I need to get a new radiator to replace my std R34 GTT single core that's started having trouble keeping the temps down.

I've been advised by my mechanic and a couple drift guys to get one from eBay.

What do you guys think? Are either of these any good:

I was thinking the ASI one looked OK?

have never seen or heard of a china spec radiator causing problems. in most cases they are way overkill anyway.. a lot of us really seem to underestimate the capabilities of the stock radiator. a lot of the time people seem to write off things like stock radiators because "oh look it sprung a leak/got blocked after 10/15/20+ years! what a piece of crap! i had better go buy a super heavy duty shiny racing one so it won't overheat during my moderate day to day driving"

this nonsense really seems to be the attitude and mentality of many import enthusiasts i've known and encountered over the years. truth be told, the %100 stock radiator, when operating properly, will do every bit as good a job at keeping your engine cool as any aftermarket will in pretty much all situations that road cars are likely to be in. IMO you really need to be flogging the shit out of your car ALL THE TIME (i.e. track car) to justify upgrading things like this.

unless of course you need to replace it anyway and the oversize one is similar price as another standard one and you just want it for wank factor lol thats legit

the china spec intercoolers are the ones that a few people seem to have their doubts about, but the radiators are all good.

I've got an AGP triple core, Australian made but I'd say exactly the same as the China spec. Works perfectly, haven't seen temperatures above 85 degrees even on the track. Usually sits dead still at 83.3 degrees.

I've been stung too many times by cheap chinese parts in the past.... but I'd prefer to avoid paying $600 for a Jap radiator. Has anyone used the ASI ones?

If so, what is their customer service like? If it isn't exactly as described I'll be wanting to return it. Link http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/42mm-Alloy-aluminum-radiator-skyline-R33-RB25DET-GTS-T-/300627724590?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item45fecf092e

Sorry, did you not read the topic?

For the record, I got one to suit a TT supra and that was perfect.

Sorry, did you not read my post? Thanks for your input

Posting shitty ebay data that gives me little indication of what they are actually like to deal with doesn't take away from the fact that you failed to read my post in the first place, all the while berating me for allegedly not reading the topic. Good on you champ

Apparently it is as described from happy customer feedback in this topic and his feedback page.

Well read the feedback left on their profile mate, that's how eBay works. I'd say that with all the negative feedback being left, they aren't very good to deal with when something goes wrong.

For those looking for a radiator, check this out.

Cheapest you will find. All the shit on ebay is out of the same factory. ASI, Saber, Cooling Pro etc.

Ive been running the ASI 56mm in my 300zx for nearly 2 years, not even 1 issue yet. I also ran it in my drift r32 but i could not fit the shroud and the fan ended up eating the radiator to bits after 1 track day but it did keep it self fairley cool before it got eaten.

Oh and as for there service i found it pretty good. I had an issue with the post company, I had the rad delivered to a mates house, he was on holiday and the time so they left a card, i got the card and went to try pick up the rad and they wouldent let me as it had my mates name on the box, i ended up ringing ASI and explaining the situation, asi then rang the shipping company and faxed over proof of payment ( from my bank account ) and gave them all the required info. bit of a head f**k but they helped me sort it all out!
