Vg30 Turbo On A Rb25Der

Hey guys just wondering would a vg30 turbo bolt straight onto a rb25det ? And is it a better turbo them the factory skyline turbo...

the large single turbo vg30 turbo bolts straight on and is a very slight upgrade as it has a larger turbine housing. unless you get one cheap though its money better spent elsewhere

its not a direct fit, some things will need to be fiddled with but nothing major. its a upgrade worth doing if the turbo is free.

It wouldnt be much but he wants to upgrade with a stock turbo so power isn't he's really concern I think

r34 neo would be the better upgrade. vg30s are too old

Yep those old VG30 4 cam single turbos are old in the tooth nowdays .

The other thing is that they use a slightly smaller compressor wheel than GTS25T/GTt so the best thing to do is use the OP6 turbine housing on an RB25s native turbocharger . Um , almost forgot , RB25 turbos have an anti reversion groove machined into the snout of the compressor housing and I don't think the VG30 turbos have it . Easy to duplicate in a lathe but why not just swap turbine housings and refit your turbo as per normal .

Bolts straight up, but the coolant and oil lines aren't and need to be massaged to fit. As others have said it would be money best spent elsewhere or on a newer turbo
