Boot Wont Open

So I was having a little trouble with my bonnet latch catching and not unhooking first go each time I try. So on advice from SAU members, i cleaned it up and now it works like new: great!

Bad news is that now the boot lever wont open the boot when I pull it. It still feels like normal so im sure the wire hasnt snapped, but it wont open and I have to do it with the key. I tried cleaning it in a similar way to the bonnet latch but this did nothing.

Has this happened to you? How did you fix it? ideas?

The bracket around the back inside the boot by the fuel filler flap has snapped,either that or the mechanism needs to be adjusted by the handle by the seat.

Check the valet switch. Look at the mechanism at the bottom, there is a switch, move it up.
