Valvoline Bathurst Autofest to be held at Mount Panorama BathurstNSW on the 17th to 18th March 2012.

The venue for the Valvoline Bathurst Autofest is Mount Panorama theAustralian home of Motorsport and that offers ideal central location with itsunique, ready-made paved areas suited to driving events and indoor/outdoor displayareas.

This is your chance to be part of an event that includes side byside action in events such as Go To Whoa, Motorkana, Show N Shine, DynoChallenge, Cruise Track and the fiercely competitive Burnout Title.

All our events are alcohol free and thus promote a true familyatmosphere where spectators are able to enjoy the enthusiasm and excitement ofa motor vehicle event in a friendly environment. This has been evidenced by thefact of strong crowd attendances consisting largely of families of all ages.

Ahighlight of the Australia’s Performance Car scene, the Valvoline AutofestSeries is one of the

largestfestivals within the country and one of the few remaining true streetperformance car

festivalsthat involve local community groups at each location visited within Australia.

TheAutofest concept originated nineteen years ago in Shepparton Victoria growingquickly in popularity year by year which now sees similar events in majorCities also within New South Wales and South Australia, the festivities promotecommunity and business side-by-side and celebrate the people, and theirpassions. Throughout the year events are held that celebrate culturaldiversity, sporting prowess, world-class driving, the great outdoors, kids ofall ages and our heritage of motorsport.

Festivalevents cross a wide variety of skilled driving skills, trader informationbooths and motoring displays are just the tip of an iceberg of great fun andcommunity celebrations.

Themuch-loved burnout competition is a highlight at all of the Autofest Events.Each event attracts

approximately100 registered entrants fiercely compete for the bragging rights to be crownedburnout king or queen. Surrounded by thousands of cheering spectators, thesechosen few go into battle in a high octane of high revving engines, shreddingtyres and some may even catch alight on their way glory or despair this is carcarnage at its best.

TheAutokana is yet another that entrant’s line up to muster with manoeuvres inforward and reverse and both left and right this is a true test on one’sability to get things right or go down in a blaze of glory.

Gain somestreet cred’ on the Mainline Dyno Competition, who has got the most horsepowerand buck stops right here where once and for all the machine tells all.Entrant’s put their mechanicals monsters of all sizes on this machine to testtheir machines against one another to prove who the power monster is.

TheStreetcar Supreme offers the best streeters from the land also to competeagainst one and other in quality and workmanship but without the inclusion ofundercarriage judging and awards include authentic, restored, import, classic,exotic, muscle, roddered or customised all are catered for.

TheShowcar Masters houses some of the best cars ever seen and Entrants travel fromnear and far to show their wares and skilled craftsmanship only to be judged bysome of Australia’s best to find the master of all masters in all areas ofproduct, design and delivery.

The Go toWhoa, another winner with all that participate with Entrant showing all the Gothey can muster and in just 140 metres throwing out all the Anchors try to tametheir monster to pull up before they cross the dreaded finish line.

So far so good for the Valvoline Autofest Series with both the Shepparton Springnats and Mount Gambier events now done and dusted its off to the Australian Motorsports Holy Grail, Mount Panorama Bathurst NSW for the Bathurst Valvoline Autofest March 17th and 18th for two days of Motoring at its BEST.

Ok Shepparton Springnats are done, Mount Gambier Autofest is done that only leaves one left to do before winter sets in and that one is none other than the Bathurst Valvoline Autofest to be held at the home of Aussie Motorsport, Mount Panorama Bathurst NSW.

Come March 17th and 18th the Mountain is going to Rock to a all new sound of V8, 6, 4 and Rotary Grunt with a full two day program of indoor show and out door action where else would you wanna be!

All roads lead to the Worldrenowned Mount Panorama Racing Circuit, Bathurst NSW during the weekend ofMarch 17th and 18th 2012 for the inaugural annual running of the Bathurst Valvoline Autofest.

Organisers of the highly successful Valvoline Autofest Car Festivals havescheduled yet another high-octane event and expect large crowds from across thecountry to come see the cars fly at Mount Panorama.

The Bathurst Valvoline Autofest will be held in and around the month ofMarch over the next 5 years and will feature events such as Go To Whoa, Autokana,Dyno Comp, Indoor and Outdoor Show N Shine, Trade Displays and everyone'sfavorite, the all Mighty Burnout Competition.

Team Extreme will be making a New South Wales appearance and are sure toexcite all with their awesome supercharged weapons in a traditional Ford VHolden Showdown.

A variety of entertainment is on offer with rides for the kids,merchandise and trade displays. The event is alcohol free, fully catered and isan affordable family day out.

Organiser, Di Adams said that the response since the first announcementof the Bathurst Car Festival event had exceeded her expectations.

“We have received entries from most State's of Australia and theBathurst Regional Council and local Bathurst community groups have beenfantastic to work with”.

Organisers said they anticipated the weekend of horsepower to quicklybecome one of the most exciting Motor Sport events in New South Wales.

Events such as the Valvoline Autofest play an important role in regionaleconomies through boosting spend on retail and accommodation.”

A multi media advertising campaign promoting BathurstValvoline Autofest will commence shortly, with a focus on TV and Radio inVictoria, New South Wales and Queensland.

Adult: $30, Family: $60, Under 15: $10. Weekend passes are availablefor: Adult: $50 and Family $100. Student concession with a Valid ID isavailable for $10 per day.

Hi All, just wanted to say a big thank you to all involved in last weekends inaugural running of the Bathurst Valvoline Autofest.

From entrants, spectators, traders and sponsors a hugh congrats go out to you all in making this event a success that it was and believe that we all could not have wished for a better start to an a event no matter what.

Thanks must also go out to our event Naming Right Partner Valvoline and also to the community of Bathurst including , the Regional Bathurst Council, Saint Pats football club, Bathurst scouts, Bathurst rural fire services, St Johns and the list goes on, but we cannot also go without thanking those behind the scenes including the amazing Autofest staff, volentees, and officials and most of all the ENTRANTS that were apart of this iconic event because without these this event would simply not of taken place and now we can only look forward into building the Bathurst Autofest into one of Australias BEST MOTORING FESTIVALS FOR YEARS TO COME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Oh yeah forgot to also mention need to also unplug the IACV as well. Thanks for the reminder @MBS206 Unplugging the TPS takes it out of closed loop so you're able to screw down the IACV without the ECU trying to add/subtract timing to maintain the idle (not sure PowerFC can even do this, but Nistune and the OEM definitely does)
    • For sale is my 1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GT-T, tuned to 234 kW / 313 hp. I've had the car for a few years as my daily driver. The car is original (as far as Skylines go), with only a few minor upgrades to enhance performance and driving experience, as typical for such a car of its age. Overall, it is in great condition with no body rust, thanks to its earlier import date. It features a top-notch security system (not literally, but it's great!) with remote start and still functional 4-wheel steering via HICAS.     • I've had two suzukis in the past have an extremely hard time turning over and not starting after sitting for a few weeks. Ended up the alternator would seize up causing the starter to force. Same issue both times.  Maybe they're sourcing their alternators from the same place...
    • Ah right. Maybe my rb just loves chewing through batteries lol.
    • On the R34 can't you just unplug the IACV? This is the way I've always done it on the R33. Disconnect IACV, get it idling around 650rpm, and then do a power reset on the ECU to get it to relearn idle (factory ECU).   The big reason no one has touched on as to why you'd want to get the base idle right, is that it means the computer needs to make smaller adjustments to get a good idle at 700-750rpm.   Also, cleaning the IACV won't normally make the car suddenly idle lower or higher. The main issue with the IACV gumming up is that the valve sticks. This means the inputs the ECU gives, aren't translating to changes in air flow. This can cause idle choppy ness as the ECU is now needing to give a lot of input to get movement, but then it moves too far, and then has to do the same in reverse, and it can mean the ECU can't catch stalls quickly either.
