Great Start To 2012

so new years morning I find out my car has a cracked windscreen, covering about a quarter of the glass. So I've got comprehensive insurance with window coverage, but I think I have to pay like a grand in excess, which I really cant deal with. So does anyone know where to find a windscreen for a 33, how much prices are/ where I should buy from and if I should ditch using my insurance?

Even O'Briens's didn't quote me THAT much when I asked how much a replacement would be (Thankfully mine was a tiny repairable crack anyway, was just curious)

They did my friend's R33 S1 2door for $290, and my Aus R31 for $240, but we did them both together, perhaps they gave us a discount.

Have you looked up your PDS? Some companies (like Shannons) give you one free windscreen a year for free

Aussie Windscreens in Phillip were cheaper than O'briens to buy one though...

aussie windscreens are alot cheeper but i was not very happy with the the end result of them not putting my wipers back on properly, leaving half the screws out of the plastic filler thingy and leaving masking tape on the roof in my R31.

but it was worth saving the extra 200 from what O'brians wanted

So I called 5 guys and used o'brians last and they beat the price of the previous bloke

As shell pinted out if you have comprehensive with "windows coverage" then it should be free to claim windows on. Check first.
