Hello there all SAU members, I am currently hunting for a import and have decided I'll most likely be getting either a Nissan V35, most likely a 300gt model, 01, 02 or a Nissan stagea, most likely 01, 02 M35 model. I was wondering for the pros and cons of each car as a comparison to each other. I do know that the 300gt is just rear wheel drive, v6 3.0L tuned to apparently 191kw according to sources i have found while the stagea is 2.5, turbo charged, @ 206kw max, all wheel drive, its a wagon with more room. What are pros and cons to each car when being compared to each other? I do want the car to go a bit as well and allow for some mild tuning as this will be a daily driver. Any info will be much appreciated, Thank you.

besides the obvious difference (sedan/wagon), the 300gt uses a 3.0L direct injected engine, if you want to do some tuning/power increse down the track, you are probably best off to avoid this model, as aftermarket tuning options are very sparce. If you want to go with the V35, you would be better off looking for a 350gt, more power out of the box, and a lot more 'power up' options.

The 2.5L M35 is obviously already turbo charged, so 'power up' options would be even easier than a 350gt.

If you just want to do some mild tuning, the 350gt or the M35 will be suitable. Both will be fine as a daily, unless you go nuts with mods. So it probably comes down to 'do you want an AWD wagon, or a RWD sedan'??

I used my Stagea (VQ25det) for my daily for over 4 years & 150,000kms. Can't fault the VQ25det, very reliable and can put out a heap of power quite easily without sacrificing reliability.

So it probably comes down to 'do you want an AWD wagon, or a RWD sedan'??

This is what you should be thinking about first and foremost IMO

    • Hey all, I'm sorry if this has been discussed before.  I have a 2008 Japanese import V36 coupe with nav but without Bose. I bought one of those AliExpress android screens, which for the most part works really well.  The only thing that doesn't work is the air con controls (well sort of) and the factory reverse camera.  The AC can be controlled fine but it doesn't report the change in temp and mode to the screen, and the volume knob/other audio controls from the panel don't register on the learning app.  I am pretty certain that the problem is the difference in the head unit between base model (Nav but no Bose) 2007-2009 coupes and anything after 2009.  Mine is the one with the blue connector all the way to the right as seen in this forum post:  The reason I think this is there is one wire left over that doesn't fit anywhere on this head unit, or in the factory screen which also uses different connectors to more recent versions.  I've seen the upgrade from OWC, and have sent the guy a message on eBay but no response yet.  I also don't particularly need the whole kit, just *maybe* an adapter for this one cable.  Did anyone else here have the same problem, or have any insight about what I can do to get this working?  I have been in contact with the seller but all they seem to be able to do is ask for more pictures and videos. Minor edit to add:  I have been researching and found a screen on Aliexpress that actually specifies my head unit in the listing, so these things do exist.  I will contact the seller to see if the wiring adapters are interchangeable with other screens.   Thanks in advance!
