Hey guys,

I have a 98 r34 GTT and my boot won't open! You need 2 people to open the boot pinch.gif When i lift up the lever from the driver's side, it unlocks the actual boot, but it wont lift up by itself unless another person is there to lift it open.

My dad's helped me out and narrowed the problem down to those hydraulic arms inside the boot. He says they're not strong enough anymore to lift the actual boot up when unlocked.

Does anyone else think this is the problem, and if so, do you know where i can get replacement parts for it so my boot will actually open and approx how much it'll be? lol

There's 2 of these hydraulic arms in the boot that lift it open. (sorry if it's not an actual hydraulic arm, but i don't know what else to call it) whistling.gif

thanks!

they are actually gas struts, they can leak over time , guessing the car is around 12yo+ so realy it isnt doing to bad.

best bet would be to look in the yellow pages and find someone in your area that re gasses boot/tailgate struts. this is alot cheaper than getting new replacements. also of these kinds of companys have a mobile service and can come to u at home or work..

Hope this may be of some help... post back if u fix the problem!
