Fuel Pump Fitment

Hi guys I am doing my friends gtr (turbos, exhaust, cam gears and major service as well as oil cooler etc) and I am done except for fuel pump, he was supplied (via ebay) a walbro pump which came with no instructions and looks very different to when I changed mine 6 months ago. Now this pump only has a straight strianer and no rubber insulator to take up the gap where as mine had a angled strainer and the rubber insulator and instructions. The guy he bought it off assures us that is will fit just use the nissan strainer and hose clamps, I tried this but it puts the pump offset which worries me. He rekons I must have got an evo kit but cant supply another as he said its not needed, has anyone had any experience with this? Hwn i did mine it was really easy and a 30 min job this is a real head ache and looks dodgy if I do what he suggests.

eBay fuel pump on a GTR? Are the turbos eBay jobs too?

Walboro and eBay are two wrongs.

Two wrongs don't make a right.

Bin it and make him buy a genuine Bosch 044 from a proper parts store.

Nope, so many mount internally. Can be easily mounted on the factory bracket.

040s are absolute shit due to the pickup design. I don't care what anyone says - its not a sock factory like design so it's shit.

It's really hard to find them and I don't understand why? How much mods are required for the 044? I have been running the walbro for 30000ks at nearly 300 kw without and drama but am happy to go for superior unit and btw no the turbos were bought from the forum and most of the parts from sau suppliers.
