I recently had a nismo twin plate installed

could that have somehow caused my gearbox to go?

I had a nismo twin in mine, more power than yours, abusing the shit out of it and it was fine. Same box now has short shifter and triple plate with solid centre - still fine (launches, clutch kicks while rolling etc) even with a bunch more power than the twin had to deal with.

Not a chance.

Nismo twin one of the best clutches on the market. Same clutch that's in mine and has taken some pretty epic abuse.

Speaking to the guys at 101 motorsport the other day there shop car ran 9.50's at 156 on a stock 32R gearbox flat shifting every gear 900whp+

Yeah it's farken strange. Some guys blown them with under 300rwkw. Yet there are guys who've run consistent 9s/10s without problems with big launches & sticky tyres. Such a random one.
