Hey SAU

So yesterday I went out to carcareproducts and bought myself a Mint DAS6 Starter kit.

And then I spent 6 hours going over my whole car.

Process------->

Wash

Clay'ed

Wash

5 hours of polishing with the Menzerna stuff that came with it

Waxed with Meguiars Gold Class

Let it settle (tik tok)

Covered it with Zaino Z-CS paint sealant

End result?

Wow, is all I can say. That paint has never looked better.

I'll have to go over the roof and the boot again. All the years of tree sap or something has etched it too much for the polish that I was using.

But swirl marks and all light scratches are now a thing of the past. thumbsup.gif

Let me know what you think of my first time using a RO polisher.

Lubricant specifically for clay barring. The other quick detailer leave a film from the wax which is not ideal for the paint correction stage of things.

Well I dont know what the real go is, but I wash it properly after claying. Just to get anything else off that the clay bar might have lifted.

Ah i see. I will get me some final inspection next time. I wasnt sure if I should go on with it. But I did.

Well done mate, I use Meguiars Ultimate Compound to get tough scratches out. Pretty abrasive and works very well. Might be worth a shot.

Also, probably not proper process but works very well - I use a mothers powerball mini for the isolated scratches you want to focus on.

I use FI CAP Heavy with their HD Medium Cut pad, it takes off most of the swirls I've seen.

Menzerna is very good too though.

on a side note - It may be a better idea to wax after the sealant has been applied, and only after the sealant has finished curing.

I usually seal first, when I've got enough protection then just keep going over with wax whenever I feel like really.

I also usually like to wash and cleanse after the polishing before applying the sealant/wax

It's all about technique. A competent detailer can use a heavy cutting compound such as Menz Power Gloss and finish with a nice gloss without haze or swirls. Takes some time and patience to work that compound but you can finish like a polish to get a swirl free result.

Correct the Zaino wouldnt have even cured or bonded to the car, it would have been pointless to put that on after a wax. sealants MUST go on prior to a wax.

Really.....Id like to see that, no way not even with a blue LC pad and working it for ages youll still have minor marring and slight buffer trails.

^^^ what you talking about? Zaino clear seal can be applied over any wax! The details are, make sure wax cures then apply Zaino CS.

Yes you can apply clear seal first. But I wanted to work the look of my car then apply the sealant to lock in that gloss.

Also, If youre using a random orbital, it is very hard to leave buffer trails. Even with the heavy cutting compounds.

      I'll snap up some photos when I'm back home, in the office today meeting my "in the office" quota. Have 2x Teams calls scheduled in, office culture they reckon.   I've never owned a proper off the shelf sub, I've always made or modified broken ones with Jaycar plate amps and/or car subwoofer drivers. The current (and broken) subwoofer has a proper home driver in it, Dayton driver, thos one https://www.daytonaudio.com/product/118/rss265hf-4-10-reference-hf-subwoofer-4-ohm FS of 25Hz, which is low but not low enough. Yeah, I think they were brought out to the market to compete with SVS. I would love a SVS PB-3000 but they're not cheap, especially after their price hike. From reviews online, it does look like the Tonewinner D6000 would destroy and with good amount of money saved too.

      yeah, that happens too.  I'm really enjoying 4WDing at the moment, seen a few beautiful spots and want to go explore more of this enormous country.  The 370Z got a clutch LSD in it and a track day, great fun.  Getting the back end sorted out really rejuvenated my enthusiasm for driving it hard, the viscous one is poo especially in such a short and wide chassis.  The VLSD unpredictability was more benign in a long and skinny Skyline.

      With my pre/power I use a remote trigger cable(3.5mm jack each end). I turn tv on, it turns both on via ARC. Or, just the pre with the remote or its streaming software, turns on both. Not that difficult at all. Obviously,  you would also want to actually update/upgrade over other factors in your life(bills, family, other hobbies, etc)

      Yeah, nightfall was very "meh". And I'm crap at pvp, so feels like everyone has cheats(it's just my lack of skill). Final shape has been pretty good. New raid and dungeon are pretty good. If you want to give it a go, probably wait until it's on sale. But, as usual, most of it feels very familiar.

      This morning was Kingswood's Microscopic Wars. It is the album's 10 year anniversary this year and we went to see them play the whole album as a special show a couple of months back. Was pretty spectacular.
