Hey guys,

I recently had a friend of mine install my old headdeck (KDC-MP249) in my '94 R33, and the fuse for the taillights and gauge lights kept blowing, after some research I found out its most likely something wrong with the Illumination wire. So I took the headdeck out and had a look, I found out that the only wires connected to the headdeck were Black, Yellow and Red wires (Also the speaker wires). no Orange wire (Or any other color that was mentioned in other threads for illumination wire) :/

Can someone help me out? I'm sick of not being able to drive at night. lol.

Cheers

The orange wire that they may have been referring to is from the actual head unit and not the car. It seems to me that they may have connected the earth wire (black) from the head unit, to the vehicles illumination wire. This is a common mistake as this wires shows ground (-) when testing it with a test light, but then goes to positive (+) when the parklights are turned on. For safe practice you should connect the earth wire directly to chassis.

i just installed a clarion 7' touch screen in my 1996 series 2 skyline and i have no idea what colour the illumination wire is from the car i know the orange and white from the head unit is illumnination but what colour do i wire it to??
