Yeah through import mags have read good things about SVI they can find you a really modified car if you want. only thing is they take all the gear off for compliance then u have to get it put back on but when u see S2 R33's in top nick for $19 000 with it's own supply of free goodies for you then I'd say gimmie gimmie :headbang:

According to RAWS this is a big NO NO. Any non-standard parts that come in on a vehicle must not only be removed, but must also be destroyed. They cannot be put back on the vehicle after compliance. Indeed, they cannot even be sold. They must be destroyed and DoTaRS has been know to conduct random inspections on vehicles arriving on the docks, recording VINs etc and the aftermarket parts included on the vehicles and then asking for photographic evidence of their destruction upon submission of the VIC when applying for a compliance plate. Any RAW caught breaking these rules is liable to lose their accreditation. If you want to risk this as a customer then best of luck if you can find an unscrupulous RAW as you may get a highly modified vehicle cheap but I cannot imagine any RAW being foolish enough to risk this given the huge expense in setting up, and complying with, the RAWS.

I got mine at a dealer... Northshore Prestige. You pay more, but they installed a new clutch and an alarm for me. The cars they had there were all stockish, but clean as a whistle and you can take any of them out for a test drive before you buy it - which is why I didn't self import. Anyway, those guys seemed to know their stuff and they didn't bullshit me (like others I went to while looking around). All in all, it was pretty smooth.

i looked t northshore prestige as well...they let you take the car for a test drive, get an NRMA inspection, and seem very helpful...(i very nearly bought one from them, but the cash fell through)

they also dont mind throwing in goodies..like immobilisers, alarms, strut bars etc

Geoff from prestige motorsport returns all your phone calls, actively helps you find what you are looking for, has the patience of an angel and works hard for his agent fee. He has it down to an art form.

His business has staying power and a rock solid reputation. When I import I want there to be the least amount of risk possible, thats why i'm not game to try any of these 'newer guys' in the market. Buying through an experienced importer who has brought in huge volumes of cars only makes sense to me.

A big thumbs up to prestige who did a great job helping me import my Pulsar GTiR.. I wouldnt import my next car through anyone else. :)
