Hi, New to the forum. I've looked through the forums for days trying to get an answer to this question without much luck. I have a R34 with a HKS filter onto a stock MAF. When I bought the R34, my brother in law told me I had to oil the filter. I bought the oil and oiled the HKS filter lightly (Bad mistake). Car was running fine, but then started to splutter and seemed like it wasn't getting enough air/fuel. Read some stuff online and narrowed it down to the MAF. I took the MAF out and cleaned it with carby cleaner, and put it back together. Put it back in the car, now the car will not start. It kicks over but will not fire. I bought a new MAF, but it's having the same issue. I'm guessing I have a short somewhere, or there is an issue with the ECU?? Please help!!

the car should start with the AFM unplugged

unplug the AFM and see if it starts

if it doesnt then you may have fried something else

check the basics, check blown fuses, check for burnt smells on the relays etc
