Hi guys, this is my first post. had my 250 rx stagea for about 3 months now and have changed the interior in it. I have a spare DVD rom with the nav system which is up for grabs for FREE just gota pay postage :) Im in NZ will to send to anywere though, saves me giving it to the wreckers.

Got the stag for $7000 which i was happy with, has the dual sunroofs. had a few things that has to be done. needs new boot stays and new boot hinge (glass rear wont stay open) Has anyone removed a boot before? I have got the parts and will install this weekend. Just wondering if there anything special i need to do.

Also i have what i asume is something for the ETC in Japan (black thing in midle of dash) can i rip it off?

Have added some pics of my beast

Thanks in advance for the help.

For now just doing things slowly like getting the rest of the black interior in, was then thinking the usual lowering rims and exhaust. and the black headlights too :)

Also looking for more power as being 2.5 NA hasnt got enough power for the weight.

Also just some advice for anyone looking at taking out the Dvd navi system. you need to cut and join a few wires cause the navigation uses the front right speaker so if you just hook up a new headdeck front right speaker wont work. this if from a rx with intergrated dash.

If you want to make it go faster the only person who can tune that ecu is Soichi from ST Hitech. he can also fit the HKS F-con if your getting serious!

Is that who Sidius used?

Came, saw, conquered, drank protein shake, kung fuéd Jetwreck, and then disappeared without so much as a bye your leave...whistling.gif

Gotta find a harness for the Fcon though, which is near impossible now.

Is that who Sidius used?

He had to have his Fcon hard wired in as there were no harnesses available (at least going by what he told me).

Very expensive install without the NP5-15 harness... if you've seen the HKS harness, you'll know why!

Alric said his was the 2.5NA, so I'm guessing VQ25DD. Would be a completely different ECU and harness, right?

Bob, can Soichi flash the VQ25DD ECUs? I'd say that'd be a better option than an F-con if you're just going for a bit more power.

Apparently - the tuner who installed my Link (and is also a Motec installer) was complaining that he had take his VQ Stagea to Soichi for tuning. Soichi regularly goes back to Japan and has good contacts there.

Hi did you get new A pillar interior covers when you bought your new interior? If so do you still have the old ones? I need a pair for mine, I don't care what colour they are. Thanks

POMNZ I havnt but there are a few places i know that might have some Auckland Japanese Car Parts Centre Ltd in Onehunga Phone: (09) 634 5546 . Or HUNUA AUTO SPARES Phone 09 298 6138

They Both have quite alot of parts for the m35.

In previous posts there has been alot of talk about manuaing a m35 as i understand it is alot easyer for me as mine is RWD not AWD? is this correct?

Hi thanks for the info. As far as I know a manual conversion can only be done for the RWD stags using a V35 manual box. There was a (very) limited run of a Axis Autech 350s Stagea that came with a VQ35 engine and a RWD manual box so it can be done for sure. There is a thread on here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/252088-m35-manual-conversion/

    • Among other things yes. Making sure to either use an oil pressure regulator or the right restrictor size for your oil pump/range of oil viscosities you intend to run, making sure you plumb the lines correctly, turbo should be placed such that it siphons properly even when the water pump isn't turning so you don't boil coolant in the turbo after shutdown, oil return should be low resistance and also preferably picking the one that is most likely to return to the pickup as opposed to some other irrelevant part of the pan. It's far from impossible to figure this out but I have seen people really, really struggle and if that's the case it's easier to just take the path of least resistance. To me, bolt-on twin turbos are a fixed cost whereas single turbo is almost unbounded.
    • Latest round of updates on the car. I purchased and installed a SWS clutch slipper to help with 60ft times and got some second-hand good condition 275/40R17 Hoosier DR2 radials. Test and tune in November showed the tyres were an upgrade over my over 15 year old mickey Thompson's and I got a 1.8 second 60ft and pb et of 11.71 but even then, that run wasn't great due to rain and driver error (the event got called off 10 minutes later fast forward to the weekend just gone 25th of Jan and there was finally a break in the weather to let racing happen. The first run the track was slippery and only managed a 12.1@129 Second run the track was better and got a new pb et and mph: 11.54@131   Lith and I then worked out that I installed the previously mentioned clutch slipper incorrectly and its never been working, and I had just been dumping the clutch the entire time, we also noticed it was on street boost and not race boost. So I lined up for a third run with the car turned up in the first two gears, but the passengers side axle objected to clutch dumps and left the chat which stopped my weekend.   so there will be another attempt in the future once I replace the tyres as they rubbed and are stuffed now. but a low 11 should be on the cards.
    • Ceramic coating and heat shielding, you mean?
    • Turbos don't require pulling the motor apart so that's "easier". I would recommend the Nismo R3 turbos instead if you want to do stock twin turbo. It doesn't make as much power as the 2530s but it's only like ~50 whp off the mark and should have better response (ball bearing CHRA, slightly smaller turbo). A local that went with a Garrett G30 and 6boost manifold recently nearly burned his car to the ground after the hood insulator started melting and and burning so if you go single turbo I recommend doing a lot of research and validation work to make sure you don't do the same.
