The 209rwkw is nice, but done in 3rd gear, hence the lower figure because of the dog leg in gearbox.

I would have thought the torque mutliplier of the lower gear ratio (3rd versus 4th) would have made up for any small extra losses through gear mesh.

the temp correction doesn't help much in circumstances of very hot or very cold. An ambient temp of 50deg C will mean that less boost and less timing can be added to an engine than ambient of 25deg. Regardless of the temp correction this situation will impact the power potential and curve because you are left with less margin to control detonation. It also doesn't help with altitude, humidity and the % of O2 in the intake charge as a result of stale air ventilation in the dyno area.

Shootout mode or not there is more to be compared than just spinning some rollers.

my thoughts are it depends a lot on your cooler. Consider a stock cooler, running 12psi. Tests have confirmed that to get 12psi manifold pressure, the pre-cooler pressure has been over 20psi. So really you are pushing your turbo harder than you think.

I just put a trust cooler kit on my 32 running a standard turbs and it hits boost way quicker and seems to go a bit harder. The boost hasn't been changed by any other means so it makes sense that the stock intercooler is very restrictive. Also the stock piping is like 2 minute noodles!

hmm no airfliter on aswell :D

That picture was taken in the garage, on the dyno we were running the pod with the custom shield on it from the group buy. I have since made it a little better, blocking off all hot air and running a 100mm pipe through the original intercooler hole.
