Yeah I wouldn't do a clutch myself, I've spoken to a few places and got a quote for $1206 for a stock replacement clutch and labor. Not looking good

Lol, I could probably do it for half that, but doesn't come with warranty (I'm not a workshop).

I just done a gearbox in my car this week. I wouldn't say it's that difficult unless your doing it by yourself. Having a second person does make it so much quicker and easier but I've done it solo a few times.

Hmm, I would expect the quote to be around $800.

It should take a workshop around 3 hours to change a clutch (if I had a workshop it would only take 1 hour). So that'll be 3 hours x $120 (I think that's what they charge these days), so $360 for labour. An excedy HD clutch kit at trade would be around $300-$350 and $70 to have the flywheel machine. Add $20 for oil, which should total around $750-$800.

Anyway, PM me your number, if I'm close by Weston I'll ring you and take a look.

And most of my work is done on dirt. I use a few bricks and wooden planks, ramps, etc. All but one of my engine swaps were completed on dirt.

3 hours? damn I was told 5... how come it would only take you 1?

sent you my number in a pm in the afternoon

Of pull clutches on wrx's not sure how different they are but with them you take out the fork that actuates the clutch which is just a big bolt and then it's just like normal. The throw out bearing Is clipped in to the pressure plate fingers and u can't get it out.

I wonder what they are doing for 5 hours. It would only take me 1 hour if I had a workshop, because I would be setup to change Nissan RWD gearboxes (the only thing I currently own). I've done it many times that I know what to do.

I would be pushing it to do a 1 hour change on dirt. It would be closer to 3 hours if i had to get it done.

That Exedy is what's been in my car since just before I bought it. I think the receipt was dated March 2009, so we're getting on towards 3 years of use - just over 1 year of which has been at ~295rwkw.

I've slipped it badly a few times though, stunk like shit for hours hahaha. My bad.
