Hi guys thought I'd post up compression test results from my r32 gtr rb26

6-190psi

5-185psi

4-180psi

3-175psi

2-180psi

1-180psi

so just wanted to know any thoughts? Engine feels fine though I think I might run a thicker oil say 15/50 currently running 10/40 royal purple

Nothing particularly wrong with those numbers. They are within a reasonable range.

DO NOT run a thicker oil - I have been told it will be like "driving with the handbrake on". Particularly, you do not want to run a 15 - this is the viscosity at startup, you want a thin oil so it gets through the engine quickly.

I run 5W-50 in my car. The thicker the oil when cold the less protection it will provide when cold. Only if you notice the engine burning oil when cold should you go to a higher cold viscosity IMO.

Perhaps the engine has been rebuilt? I'd be happy with those figures. I think I read that <140psi is in the trouble range.
