Redline Gearbox Oil

Just thought I'd add my 2 cents.

I had gearbox crunching from 3rd to 4th under load. Replaced fluid with Redline Lightweight Shockproof and never looked back. No more crunching.

Had you tried changing your oil before this?

It could of just been a change in oil that helped, or maybe the stuff you had in before wasn't very good and any decent oil may have helped..

I had both gearbox and diff' oil changed to Redline in my previous car(VL Turbo),and it was a very noticable improvement over the "good gear" I'd been running...I'll recommend it until something better comes out!My V Spec is getting a drink of the Redline variety tomorrow,in fact!I was put onto it by Mr. Donnon and Ellis,if that gives you anything to go by.Gatty,I got mine through Rare Spares/Auto1 in Phillip,A.C.T.-friendly service and fast to get it in-after I did a search for "Redline shockproof" on Google.You'll find a list of distributors on there somewhere!

I had fresh gearbox oil from Tillbrooks about 10,000km ago. One would hope they don't use cheap fluids.

I'd been having problems for about the last 5000. If you search the forums it is a common problem and there are numerous people on this forum who will testify to it working.
