Id actually pay to see all these guys who swear by the rb25 to actually install one themselves.

Easy conversion if you plan ahead, All comes down to money as usual.

Take 1x smashed R33, Remove engine/box complete with crossmembers.

Swap engine harness, heater hoses and fittings, smic, power steering, slave cylinder etc

Fit 25 into R32, sort wiring, tailshaft, intercooler pipes, speedo drive.

Its the knowledge and this site that makes it EASY, A hoist helps!

I did 25DET swap last week but thanks for the walkthrough :P

I still say better off with a 26DETT.

  • 2 weeks later...

I say Sell the 4 door and buy a gtr.

doesnt get much more straight forward than that

/thread

You might as well go into someones project thread and tell them to sell their car... stupid

Not mechanically minded, are ya?

Quite the opposite actually.

Stupid? the bloke is new to skylines. its hardly a project. he is asking for advice. and in my opinion, buying an r32 gtr would be a better idea, taking into account the amount of money, time and know-how needed to purchasing and fitting all the supporting mods it takes to a) do the engine swap, and b) making the car stop, handle, and road worthy after its done. is this not an online forum where members are able to give their advice when asked?

OP, just to keep these guys happy, go buy an rb26 cut, put the 32 up on blocks in your shed and go for it. fingers crossed its not still sitting there in 2 years time in bits and pieces..

Of course your opinion makes sense upon elaboration Adam. But the bloke has posted his aspirations for his sedan in the sedan/ceffy/taxi subforum - and you enter his thread and throw a 'piss it off and buy a GTR' one liner? Come on...

Maybe he wants to build his car, not buy it.

My first Cefiro I've been working on for 2.5 - 3 years. When I got it, I didnt have half a clue about what I was doing, and I've just done bits n pieces over the years, and that's taught me a lot. On my other (daily) Cefiro I just did an RB25DET conversion in ~8-10 working hours..

So maybe this guy is a complete noob, but we all start learning somewhere (and it's not taking people's advice to get someone else to do it all for you).

valid point. i spose i was a bit how ya goin. but we all know how many people jump on these forums and ask for advice on doing this, that and the other, knowing full well that they are just bored and shit talking on a forum. not saying this guy is, but for a first post its pretty advanced.
