Standard Compliance Cost?

Hi All I'm looking to import just a cheap 800 dollar car from japan lol .

Now it was all looking good the research i'm doing until i come across an online post that says compliance is 3000?

I can pay the m3 $80 aus sounds reasonable price for car dimensions so still a head in saving costs.

looking threw all the costs the big cost seems to be with this compliance?

Is there a standard compliance cost?

Depends on the car. Realistically importing an $800 car will be a waste of time becuase it will cost more than that for shipping alone. Then add on compliance, new tyres etc and it will be a $4800 car very quickly!
