minikompressor
Hi all, wanting to know if anyone out there in wagoneer land has had the same issue ive got with my 1999 s2 Stagea RSV. Basically im chasing an intermittant missfire, intermittant in that when it does start missing it does for usually a few minutes then goes back to normal and when it misses it brings on the engine check light plus the traction control off light and another light that says "slip". It also wont rev without poping and farting past 4500rpm. I have tried a scan tool, but it wouldnt read anything, so before i head to a mates workshop to see if his scan tool will read the stags ecu i thought id see if anyone else has had a similar problem, with a solution. Cheers guys Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/390430-q-engine-check-light-s2-c34/ Share on other sites
Zedhead70
I had a similar problem that gets mentioned on here a bit, in my 2000 C34 S2 Rs Four. Intermittent misfire always accompanied with engine check light.I went to a mate who put a scanner on it which was confirmed at another mechanics and it reported something like "primary ignition circuit" or something, this was nine months ago. Changed the coilpacks to Splitfires part number SF-DIS-008 from JustJap and haven't had a problem since. In my case, it's a known problem. dirtyRS4
do you have a rough idle, any hunting? the check engine light can mean a number of issues occuring so be wary. although new gapped plugs, checking vaccuum leaks and coilpacks is the best way to start with diagnosing. minikompressor
Thanks for the replies guys, replaced the plugs this arvo and took it for a test drive. The miss at around 4500rpm has dissapeared and it pulls right through to 7000 with no hassles now Will give it a few days to see if the miss shows itself again, if not then all could be good. Once again . Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/390430-q-engine-check-light-s2-c34/#findComment-6218657 Share on other sites
