Hi Guys,

Just wondering if any of you could suggest a reputable financier for the purchase of my R33 GT-R. I am in Queensland. The car is a 95' and having a bit of difficulty (not because of my financial circumstances but just the first hurdle of it being an import).

Any help much appreciated.

You will find most vehicle finance companies wont touch you due to the car being an import with no set "market" value that they can check.

You will more than likely need to go for a personal loan of some description

what blitz says.. anything above $20k has to be secured generally... Under $20k is the maximum of a personal loan, above that it has to be secured. Sometimes that can be the vehicle itself but it has to be under X years old (usually this varies), and they only want something aussie that can be auctioned off later and easy sale if you default.

If you bought a brand new HSV there would be no problems, even if it cost twice as much :D

predator: so true

and yes XLR8 what predator says is the truth unfortunately. as its a grey import you can't use it as security. Whereas if go buy a 80k HSV you can use that or vice versa and get a car loan for it instead

I got mine via NLC, who got it via macquarie. I had to put down a 30% deposit.

Its also a lease, not a loan against the car - i did it this way for tax reasons (novated lease)

Try Macquarie - www.macquarie.com.au
