Hey all,

Pretty set on purchasing an R-34 Skyline, and I have my heart set on what appears to be (via Wikipedia so may well be bulls**t) the Nur Spec (images attached).

All this is fine however the cost of a genuine Nur spec is far out of my price range. Is it possible to purchase a genuine Nur spec bodykit or would I have to scour the thousands of aftermarket parts brochures in order to find something that is close enough?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi mate, from my understanding the NUR R34TR has a VSPEC Bodykit with extra diffusers at the back and those exhaust apron things. There are also underbody enhancements but I guess you won't need these.

Are you getting a R34 GTR or GTT? Where to get this rear bar is going to be a hard one. I am not going to recommend the usual bodykit places as I don't think they will sell this so I will leave it up to the others to give you better pointers.

Cheers

Talk to Peter at Bodyformaero

He can get brackets made up for the rear c/f diffuser too.

Price differences between genuine and aftermarket?

On a former R34 GTR I bought aftermarket skirts and pods from Peter for $700 (prior to paint & fit).

My current R34 GTR has genuine new Nismo skirts and pods which cost me $2100 and that was from a SAUer in the F/S section (as importing them new would have costed even more). I'd have to show you both sets side by side before you'd notice any differences.

Thanks for the help guys much appreciated.

I probably should clarify and stop using the term "genuine" because I realise that's probably not what I mean. What I actually mean is a replica (or at least unnoticeable differences as mentioned by Terry_GT-F34) to the photos above. I've seen many R-34's with poor versions of the VSPEC bodykit and I'm happy to search everywhere before I settle on something that's really got the Nur look I'm going for.

In terms of price, I am happy to go for replicas rather than genuine Nismo parts if it saves me as much as mentioned above. Any other differences (other than cosmetic i.e. fitting) that you can notice Terry_GT-F34 between the aftermarket and genuine?

I was just using "Nur Spec Bodykit" because I didn't know what sort of kit it was, now I'm aware it's basically VSPEC with a few other differences. If anyone has any info on where I could get these (slightly different to VSPEC) body pieces would be much appreciated.

if your buying a gt/gtt and hoping of putting a gtr bodykit on il save you the hassle now and say dont bother!

I second this, but there is nothing wrong with getting a GTR front bar for your GTT, side skirts or rear bar for that matter. Just don't bother going for the whole Nismo Z-Tune look as this is exclusive to the GTR body so although you can certainly do it, it will not look good. But at the end of the day, if you want to still do it, then by all means go ahead as it is your car. Do what you want to do to it and don't worry about what people say.

I didnt think there was any real major visual body differences between 'nurs' and 'vspecs' if at all?....

might have more luck searching for R34 GTR vspec kits etc.. which there are plenty of places around making them for GTRs, as for GT/GTTs i have no idea though.

Cheers,

Anthony

What you got pictured in your first post is just a stock (base model) kit.

Base model R34 GTR

V-Spec

V-Spec II

V-Spec N1

V-Spec II Nur

M-Spec

M-Spec Nur

All came with the standard kit (as you pictured)

I believe you are talking about the Nismo Kit.

Front Bar / Side Skirts / Rear Pods make up the Nismo Body Kit, which is a factory upgrade / option for customers.

  • 2 weeks later...

So the plan now (thanks to everyone's helpful contributions) is to get an R34 GT-R (NOT GT-T) however I need a final verdict on what the bodykit on the original pic is. Some of you have said it's a Nismo kit and others have said it is V-spec kit (or am I in fact an idiot because they are one and the same).

Again, any help much appreciated.

If you do some research, the first pictured Skyline GTR looks like a series 2 VSPEC II NUR edition to me. Please correct if I'm wrong.

Like I've said, you can get the front bar, side skirts and pods easily - but it's those diffusers that you cost you heaps if you want the genuine look otherwise go to the places people have suggested to get good replicas made.

No, the Nismo kit - is toe Z-Tune look...I suggest you just get yourself a Nismo front bar, skirts, rear bar and pods and call it a day. That should complete the look unless you want the Z-Tune look. Google R34 Z-Tune GTR and you will have many pictures to look at to compare. Your call. If you want to do the whole Z-Tune look, you might as well get a carbon fiber vented bonnet. Again, have a look around and decide on what specific look you want.

Good luck.

The original pic is just the stock kit.

But with a Front Under Diffuser (Came stock from factory on V-Spec / V-Spec II / V-Spec N1 / V-Spec II Nur / M-Spec / M-Spec Nur)

Also has a Rear Under Diffuser (Came stock from factory on V-Spec II / V-Spec N1 / V-Spec II Nur / M-Spec / M-Spec Nur)

Nismo kit is what I posted just above.

Nismo kits can be added to any R34 GTR spec car.

I did A LOT of research before buying my R34 GTR and can back this up 100%.

Didn't V-spec come with front and rear diffusers like the V-spec II??

As far as I know the only difference is interior between the vspec and vspec II?

I stand corrected.

Thanks for reminding me.

Yes, the V-Spec models did come with Rear Diffusers.

And the bonnet ofcourse :)

Yes, V-Spec's had the aluminium bonnets while the V-Spec II's came with Carbon Fibre bonnets with a NACA duct, to allow cooling to the turbo area.
