Need Help: Pinging

I got hold of a turbosmart boost controller, the bleed vavle style ones, I've put the boost up around 2 - 3 psi and I cant rev past 5000rpm!!!! It pings too much!!!! :ghost:

My mods are:

3" Mandrel bent cat back exhaust

Pod Air Filter

What should I do to recitfy the problem? (Please dont say put the boost back down, coz then it defeats the purpose of modifying it doesnt it! duh!)

Step 1/ Drive to dyno tuner

Step 2/ Have them diagnose and fix the problem

Check timing, may be to far advanced,

use 98 oct or higher fuel.

get FMIC, the standard cooler is not cooling down jack and causes ping

close gaps on plugs and go to a hotter plug

But 2rismo's advice is your best bet

Thanks guys, how much do you reckon the dyno tune will cost me? Coz i seriously dont have the funds atm, I'm just a first year uni student haha

If you dont have any aftermarket computers then you cant tune it. You can however get it checked and retard the timing a little. Also use a CAP other wise the POD sucks hot air making the job of the intercooler even harder

Yeh will seek out someone who can retard timing for me and get a cold air partition made up.
