that's bloody awesome funky!

but... its more of a banner, and if you are after a logo it might be a bit too detailed

I have to totally agree.

If ya keep the left half and merge it with the final SAU Vic logo (whatever that may be), that would make an awesome banner :aroused: :headspin:.

James, we collecting all ideas first, there is a deadline, once it has elasped the commity will probably pick 5 top designs and Shan will post a POLL, to determine the final logo. This has all been discussed in the commity meetings.

oh? I thought we all agreed at the meeting to go with the S and the AU on the side with Victoria underneath, a slight variation on JAMESW's design.

working on that now, was thinking the same thing, making it a windscreen decal. Its far too complex for use as a logo.

I've got the original calsonic windscreen decal templates for R30 - R34, so its a simple matter of using those wth this to make a perfect fit.

More on this soon.

But does everyone agree on the choice of logos? Its got eh GTR style S, and the au seperate so that you'd have to be pretty slow to not realise it stood for Australia (and hopefully it'll eliminate people going "what's the U stand for if S is for Skylines and A is for Australia"). Its got the victoria underneath to set us apart from the other states...

purrrrfect. (BTW this was decided at our committee meet last week) I welcome your input. The sooner we have this finalised the sooner we can get the merchandise sorted and the quicker we can make membership packs and get that much closer to getting a member base and payment system going.

Depending on the merchandise its going on (eg: a hat where the emblem needs to be a block instead of something wide, or a window decal where the logo needs to be wide not a block) we'll use the two variants.

Its a rip-off of a GTR style.

IMO - Sh(t and un-original. (sorry being blunt as i cbf typing something nice)

Disclaimer:

I say that knowing full well i can offer no better solution as i cant use paint/photoshop or even draw with my hands and scan it up.

the reason me, james, al and andrew liked it (didn't get a chance to discuss with rob ash or dale and inark coz you guys left early or weren't there) is:

a) simple

B) clear (so you don't get people going, "what's the "U" stand for?")

c) associated with skylines as soon as you see it due to its resemblence to the GTR logo.

d) it just can't be mistaken for anything else, very distinct etc. (so you don't go confusing it with a pair of subbies for example)

e) allows you to change its dimensions and still keep its form (I'd love to see someone try to put the two tailights/subwoofer things and the whole of "SKYLINES AUSTRALIA" on the front of the cap n make it look simple)

f) includes the VIC to set us apart from other states, but still maintains that we are part of the whole.

the competition ain't over yet, that's just what the four of us prefer so far. I'll put a poll up a lil later (maybe tonight) with all the logos submitted as banners on a car, and on a hat and on a membership card (since these are practical uses for the logo). Its one thing to see it on the screen and another to use it on merchandise.

BTW if we do go ahead with this as the winning submission then JamesW wins a free hat/beenie (or maybe both depending on budget) as promised.

I dont want a justification from anyone. I'm just giving my inputs :D

People have thier own views etc. I can respect that, each to thier own entirely.

Just putting forward my view :D

Albeit i cbf'd tying out something more diplomatic.

Also, i was thinking, what about trying to do something with those stickers we have for last years Auto Salon? Or maybe a variant of that design?

I've got 'em on my rear 1/4 windows. Could be worth a shot? (there, i've given input now too )

    • 2 more things I have to work out Easy one first...can anyone describe how to pull the fuel pump and sender from a 33? I can feel there is some sort of mount and clips but don't have a manual and don't know the trick......if not I'll spend some quality time in the boot witha lighter tomorrow. Second question is harder.  He had changed the upper plenum to a plazmaman but clearly got to a point with the vacuum hoses where he said "f**k it, I'm going inside for a beer" and never came back to that job because it was a mess. Am I right to think that I need: 1. Pre throttle (16mm nipple on inlet) to AAC's main 20mm fitting as the main pre throttle feed 2. ACC has a second 13m outlet joined to that 20mm fitting which I think is the pre throttle air supply for the cold start valve? 3. Cold start valve's outlet fitting then goes to Plenum (to bypass throttle?) There is some adapter on the back of the ACC with 2 fittings (13mm and 10mm), do I run the 10mm through a 1 way valve to the Brake Booster (4) and the 13mm back to a 13mm nipple on the Plenum as the Idle control (5)? 6. Run a 6mm vacuum line from the Turbosmart BOV to the Plenum? 7. Run a 5mm vacuum line from the Fuel Pressure Reg to the Plenum? 8. Run a 5mm vacuum line from the Turbosmart Boost controller to the Plenum? (Wastegate already has a pre turbo pressure source running to the solenoid then the wastegate on the other side of the bay)  Any help appreciated, the GTR is quite different setup and while the Stagea also has FFP it is different again. (And no Dose, I'm not pissing it all off and putting a ethrottle on it....)
    • OK, onto some questions to try and speed up the process a little. Does anyone know what core this Garret is? I know it is a high flowed standard turbo but nothing else about it. Tag says OK 0169J - 446179-5032 Same question for the injectors, I don't know what they flow and ideally can work it out before it hits the dyno, they are a mustard yellow side feed
    • Quick side trip into the engine externals, alternator and PS were in place including tensioned belts, but the PS was dry (my guess is he had the steering rack reco-ed). Filled it up with Transmax Z but it will need more bleeding once the engine is running no doubt. BTW I've said before, I don't know what kind of soft animals you have in the city, but out here they breed the rats tough. I bet they were disappointed when they tasted synthetic ATF.... Coilpacks are Splitfires with a factory loom in reasonable condition. I didn't pull one put I bet the spark plugs are new as its a new engine
    • Onto intake pressure test. I have a Raceworks (damn brand thieves!) pressure test adapter that lets you apply pressure through a standard tyre valve and comes with a pressure gauge.....I just blocked off the other end immediately before the throttle body. Applied 30psi....and the turbo intake immediately popped off with a bang. Sorted that but it was still leaking, turns out there is a pinhole leak at the BOV adapter that I'll have to find a local place to TIG up. I'm sure it makes SFA difference with such a small leak but I want it to be right. Everything else up to the throttle body was good. Also cleaned and oiled the KNX cone filter, and this is the AFM if anyone can identify it (car runs a PowerFC)
    • I'll send you a message, but until I know what is OK (and anything that isn't) its kind of hard to work out a fair price. BTW I'm just helping out here, ultimately it is Mel's call what she accepts but I know it will go sooner or later.
