Best recommendation is to drop into a GTR certified Nissan Dealership. Also you might want the Black Box logs investigated to ensure the warranty is still valid, as well as how many launches the car has done, whether its running aftermarket tuning or if it has been tampered with.

An unknown can't just walk into Nissan and get that type of info.

What is the correct process for a potential buyer to get his / her hands on this information?

Cheers.
