I read some pretty sad stuff on borg warner turbos here on SAU so dont know bout that.

Borg Warner has been an OEM supplier of turbos and drive line gear since before you knew how pee standing up. Nissan, Holden, Porsche, Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, etc etc etc ad nauseam all use BW brand equipment as standard. There's been bad feedback on a very new line of turbochargers that takes the best elements and technologies available for turbochargers today and combines them, and thanks to the wonders of the internet, everyone knows every little detail about every 'reported' failure.

Could happen to any company that produces parts specifically aimed at performance. But would they provide the same sort of help after a failure occurs such as BW has been doing in regards to the EFR?

Probably not.

got a top mount off monsta abit over a year ago didnt even line up to studs.. told them didnt get a reply so tried again then i waited for a reply for 2 weeks and never got a refund.

wouldnt even bother with them

My 2c would be every turbo over time will shat itself or need a rebuild cause they have moving parts, moving parts = wear and tear. An ebay turbo is a pretty black and white answer with a small shade of grey imo, U would expect an ebay turbo to last 1/4 of the time or less of a brand name due to being more poorly built and cheaper parts used and not preform like a brand name. But whos to say how long a ebay turbo will last, its the variables involved that count to. If it was installed correctly, if it has spot on oil feed pressure, how much boost its running, if its warmed up and cooled down properly. U can pick up a kando TD06H for as cheap as $650 on ebay and thats with oil and water lines, gaskets and an exhaust flange included. By the time u bought a monsta or a no name turbo and all the other bits and pieces u would be up for that price of a kando anyway. A kando would be the only turbo id buy off ebay. Plus they could probably build u a custom turbo to suit ur needs if u asked them.
