"steam Pipe" Single Turbo Manifolds On Fleabay....anyone Know Anythging About This Supplier And Their Products?

Recommended Posts

All would be fine if it controlled boost, everyone knew the flanges would be warped I read that in this thread and expected it, although mr hybrid performance says he gone through and changed the way they are made and fixed all his issues, didn't care how it looked rough looking collectors all that stuff as long as it didn't crack an controlled boost, surely other peoples set ups must work?

There havnt been too many bad reports as of yet as far as i can tell.

People have bought batches of Splitfires that have shit themselves after one dyno session too. Theres always that chance isnt there.

If you are saying there was issues with the flange / or holes on the manifold how come i didn't see any pictures or heard about this matter? because i am sure if any one or even myself got something which i wasn't happy with i would have contacted the company directly i mean i reply to every one if they have an issues,

Position of the wastegate is not an issue and has been run like this for the past 2 years and have not heard of any boost spiking issues , maybe you would have required to run a larger port which we do offer not a 38mm port

and slippylotion have you used one of our products on your own car? and had issues? or are you just assuming because they are cheap that means they would be rubbish? i am not trying to come off as a dic* but i just want to know if you have had any issues so i know.

We have done dozens of manifolds the same design same position and if you look back to people feedbacks there has never been really an issue with spiking.

This is not a product which is compared to 6boost or other companies we have made these to suit the mid range budget you are paying $300 for a 3mm thick mild steel manifold the same amount you would pay for a Chinese manifold. If you pay me $1200 i will custom make you something with custom made collectors and laser cut and cnc everything for you.

My point is if you have any issues you contact us directly to resolve it before you go around and say i spent this and i spent that, if i don't see the issues then i can't fix them if there are any, i am sure any body would understand that.

thanks

No I haven't used one of your manifolds and not to be rude but looking at them I never would regardless of the price. The things I see wrong with them is design, flange thickness and welding standard and as a consumer that's what I look for but that's just my opinion.

I'd guess that his boost problems would be related to the length on the pipe and location. Have a look how 6 Boost and Full Race, to name just two that do it like this, locate their wastgates, it's done for a reason.

That's fine that is your opinion and i respect that.

You are saying the position of the port is incorrect but then we have over 50 people with the same setup and proven it works and even from people on this forum.

Also you are not stating that it could be something to do with his own turbo / waste gate / vacuum lines setup to the wastegate and all the other factors that would be taken into count?

I have heard number of times before that there has been boost spike issues in the past with big named manifold manufactures and i am sure most people have.

I respect that you are stating your opinion and i have already heard that few times but we are not comparing this product to a 6boost manifold or Fullrace, A lot of people have used our manifolds and proven to work fine and if you are worried that your turbo would have boost spike issues then pay the extra cost and we will make you one to suit 44, 50 , 60 mm port.

I was happy enough with the manifold it took me all of 10 minutes to re weld a couple of pin holes in the collector welds big woop, and a few other reports of warped flanges and it was pointed out to you that a plastic ruler wasnt a good way to check your flanges and they're test fitted, all I'm saying is the exact truth and I'm trying just to get it to work? When I ordered

The manifold I told you the turbo setup and everything and still have the email and you recommended your 38mm set up and quote was proven to work so Im wondering why mine won't work.. And as you said it's not the same quality or price as a top dollar manifold so a warped flange didn't bother me the only problem is boost control so I'm just after some advice on how to fix it,

If there was any issues with the manifold at the time of arrival you should have simply emailed me or pm'd me and i would have been more than happy to sort any thing out

All our flanges now are being machined after they are welded to ensure flat surface,

Can you post up pics of your setup with your vacuum lines from the wastegate and your exhaust setup

Thanks

The only issue I have with manifold is I having trouble controlling boost, might not be related to the manifold I'm just after some help, I can take some pics tomorrow and update my phone so I can upload pics to SAU, exhaust setup is 3inch pipe welded to 3 inch dump v band on 45 degree decline down to the bottom of the firewall then flagged joined there to 3 inch pipe with 2 mandrell bends into cannon no muffler no cat, I cut the 2 bolt wastegate flange off the manifold and welded the tial v band on then fitted the 38mm gate to that then from the outlet of the gate a 90 degree butweld and a pipe 150mm long screamer, and the line to waste gate comes out of the inltet manifold down the back of the head to the wastegate 6mm internal diameter line

Get some pictures for us, but normally the perfect spot for the vacuum port from my opinion is to run it direct of the front housing of the turbo some might agree with me some might disagree..

Our 44mm/ 50/ 60mm ports are all shorter length, but if we made the wastegate port sit the same way as 6boost would that be ideal for you guys? as i know space is a factor , and would you guys want the 38mm port to sit the same way straight off the side ? let me know and i will make adjustments

dvs jez has stated he had the same issue with a similar manifold and he replaced the 38mm waste gate pipe with 44mm and ran a 44mm gate so maybe this is my fix

I have a similar issue using a 40mm compgate. But I think that may be partly due to it having a Rb30. I'm going to test the theory of moving the boost reference point to the compressor housing. If that doesn't work I'm going to try winding the boost up to say 25psi see if that helps. If that also doesn't work I guess I'm going to need to change it for a 45 or 50mm gate.

And you expect your manifold to control boost thru a pathetic 38mm port? Its been around for yrs, to get perfect boost control you need larger diameter pipe for the wastegate from the collector.( reason ppl modify the chinese manifolds to 50mm or bigger ) If u done ur research prior then you wouldnt have such problems.

my nz manifold bolted up perfect in everyway and works wonders. who gives a flying shit if it doesnt look pretty like a 6boost. cause everyone is going 2 get a fat over the awsome collector when the fkn turbo is bolted on.. haha ive had my whinge. im out.

Move the boost reference nipple tonight, you are capable of doing nice welds so it shouldnt take you long at all.

If its still doing it after you move the ref then continue hunting.

I feel bad for Mr Hybrid as he is copping a bad wrap without reason. If there is an issue with a product you should ALWAYS give the manufacturer or reseller the first opportunity to resolve the issue before leaving public negative comments. If you flat out expected to need to do a few little fixes on it like you said you did, you should just keep that to yourself.

Slippy lotion, I know we are both SR boys, but you DO NEED to pipe down mate. Stop barking up this guys tree coz its just not fair, hes a legit trader now and deserves to be shown respect. Try make your future comments constructive rather than plain criticism.

Thanks for the posts,

i am sorry i have been bussy working on a couple things haven't had time to reply,

From talking to a few people and seeing the couple issues with the t06 20g turbos spiking i would really suggest going for our 44mm port + , the 38mm port is too small for that application also when we make the 44mm port you can shorten it as much as you like as you choose where your flange goes,

I am working on a couple low mount manifolds now and looking at different design regarding the Wg port and will keep you posted

Hey mate I think my problem has been partially fixed by moving the boost ref to the compressor housing. But I haven't put it on a dyno yet to confirm it.

when was it spiking before and is it not doing any more?
