Yeah, my cruising speed is considered 2krpm or lower. Its the standard dash gauge. It goes up fine to about 4 when moving and higher when its higher up in the revs.

should be fine then.

been thining about switching to Penrite as well, I use it in my other cars and its great stuff and about half the price of motul so can change it more frequently.

Ive only put it in my 33 diff and it feels good..think I will just go with the HPR 10, 10-50...think its good for ethanol too yeah

hoiw much is the ten tenths stuff?

i paid $79.95 at a local store for the 5w-60. can probably be gotten cheaper elsewhere but i was in a hurry

In a stock motor anything under 10w40 is a bit thin. Built motor I wouldnt use anything under 15w50.

Thats just me.

Same here that's exactly what I've been told.

I brought some 100% syn 20w 50 amsoil for $80. I get 600kpa when cold on idol, and when warm it's usually 80-100kpa above revs. Eg 2k revs is 280kpa oil press (40psi). it's thinner than the 10w40 & 25w50 oils I have seen (cold) and my car rb20 seems really happy on it. It's the same as their race oil but AMS say it's good for 30,000ks in a new vehicle.

    • It's more like on average the things I see a lot of things going wrong. Yes, usually the people who reach out are the ones who are having problems but on average it feels like mechanics and tuners here aren't really competent. I swing between thinking my standards are just way too high and wondering whether people really are just this dumb. I just had the strangest 10+ reply argument on a Facebook group over someone insisting that the factory R34 GTT boost control solenoid reduces boost pressure to 5 psi when it's on and raises boost pressure to 7 psi when it's off despite showing the exact plumbing in the factory service manual and the solenoid behavior detailed in the FSM.
    • I steam cleaned my near new set of volk gtc wheels 14 years ago and farrkkked them lol. The clear coat cracked like spider webbing in several areas. Lesson learnt don't do that. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

    • Yeah, my moulds and seals are 32 years old now. I think I will continue to not use a pressure washer on it.
    • I hear the old "I'd never use a pressure washer on my motorbike" BS in the dirtbike community too.ย  The only people that have had a problem from using a pressure washer on anything are the people that aren't using them properly.ย  If you hold the wand any more than 45 cms away from pretty muchย anything (radiators, wiring connectors, paint, etc) you aren't going to cause any damage.ย  We've had detailers wreck moulds and seals on cars at work before and the only reason why is they held the pressure washer too close and on the one spot for too long.ย  If you have 5% more brain power than a detailer then you know not to not do that and you'll never have a problem.
