hi,

ive got a 1989 r32 gtst-4, rb20 shat itself, so ive sourced a s1 stagea rb25 motor (apparently same as s2 r33 rb25 - can anyone clarify?)

i know that the ecu the motor comes with is 'un-nistune-able' (again - clarification please?)

stagea S1 ecu is able to remap.

Can you clarify as Series 1 ECU is not mappable - unless the chip or board is changed - or you know something we don`t and i would love to know , I do know that the series 2 Stagea ( NEO engine ) IS mappable .

If series 1 is mappable I have 10 customers RIGHT NOW !!!! , i am not also not sure that the series 1 ECU is Nistuneable either !! , Mines will do - but not for units outside Japan !! and the Guy in Australia on ebay dose not list the series 1 for a nistune board .

If you know different please let us in on the source ................

I believe Toshi can source a daughterboard from Japan which will accept a chip. I think its a bit more expensive than Nistune but don't take my word - get the real facts from Toshi.

S1 stagea computers ate not nisstuneable! You can run a piggy back ie pfc or emanage or toshi does some form of remap! They can be mines chipped from jap land and they will have a gold mines plaque and ref number on ecu. mines normaly removes boost cut speed cut raise rev limiter and some times increase air fuel. it is still not a tuneable ecu more like a power chip like you get for vs vn common whores. still heaps better than stock . oh and ive got a s1 mines computer for sale

stagea S1 ecu can not real time tune but chip is able to change to remapped chip.

So if you want to boosted up or install hiflow turbo I can do remap.(I sold 5 chips for S1 stagea.S1 stagea map is exactly same R33 S2 map)

But if you want to install big injector and big turbo in future I recommend HKS FCN Vpro(gold)

Fcon Vpro is able to use auto.

    • Ha ha, all good! I've almost caved in and realised I'm buying one.  I know myself well enough by now that I will start chasing ADHD butterflies half way through building it and not finish it so I'm better off spending the extra money buying one instead of making one just so I can get into straight away.  I would very much enjoy making one as fabrication is probably a strength and definitely a passion but I don't want that to be at the detriment to the car I'm ultimately building it for! There's some pretty good ones around for ~$1100 at the moment so I think I'll just go that way.  At the end I sell it or as mentioned, get another project to make further use of it! Thanks gents.
    • That link was very helpful thank you.
    • That is the option code, not the VIN. Regardless all of that production is considered series 2: https://gtr-registry.com/en-ecr33-vin-table.php
    • Apologies if I sounded like a arse My point was that you will not be able to buy a rotisserie that suits your car, you get the rotisserie frame, and then fabricate parts to mount the rotisserie frame to the body The rotisserie side is easy, but the fabrication of the actual mounts is the tricky part, where to mount so you don't bend/twist the body, plus the geometry involved to get it to turn  If your capable at fabrication, and can work out where the C/L is in relation to the weight is so it actually can turn, you should be sweet I would love to see the progress on this just for the thought processes and fabrication
