Internal wastegates are always a compromise, (except with the new BW turbos). They never flow well as the exhaust gas cant turn 90 degrees out of the wastegate port when its doing supersonic speed through the nozzle. Making the port larger will only mask the problem, I have also tried grinding the port to allow better flow and it made no difference in that case.

Plenty of gt3076s with internal gate make decent power and as for internal for stock turbos lol stao doest have a problem making well over 300 with internal

never said it cannot be done, but u clearly have never been down this path yet. some ppl like to learn the hard way :)

I was done that path with my old rb25 with a gt3071 on 270rwkw internal Gate and also a gt3540 internal gate on my rb30det making 346rwkw

Like I said I'm not goin to cry if I only get 290rwkw the mafia made that on 17psi with the sump pipe I bought of him which was custom made separating the internal gate and exhaust and made 315rwkw with meth injection with no mods done to his turbo

and i dont have a ex gate setup on the car atm im just buying a external gate gt3076 swapping the rear housings as i bought a dump pipe to suit

worse case ill just weld the gate closed and blow a hole on the rear housing for a ex wastegate :)

So gtscott do u think I should just buy the Garrett wastegate?

If you have the option get yourself the garrett big can item

Apparently they help spool on a little earlier, but I honestly didnt see a problem with Mick_o's one (his is the small can they normally come with)
