but I will keep an eye in case they fix their problems earlier.

Yep, the hankook distributor in Vic has changed apparently and jacked the prices up over $100 a tyre... makes my choice easy, AO50's it is!

26 entrants ey... Serves WRX club right for stuffing us around... fact is they need our club to make the numbers. I'm sure PI was more fun for all anyway :D

Yeah, that was craziness from WRX boys to cancel then to reintroduce later on..........was really keen on Winton too.

Be interesting to see how much quicker you are John. From what I read from EVO and WA buys those fancy yokie streets were only 0.2-0.5sec slower than RE55s. So I am guessing AO50s are about 1-1.5sec quicker than AO50s so guess you should be knocking close to 1.5-2.0 seconds off your times.

I am at a loss over tyres. ..I suppose I will just have to sell more parts to fund the 2k it is going to cost for f**kign tyres. Its a joke that they are so expensive...the mark up seems a nice thing for them to be able to get away with. I know the Federals semis are about 20% cheaper and decent enough, but I guess if you are going to spend $1600 may as well spend 2k and have the best :(

This is why I've been getting AO50's for a while. It sucks but they do last me 3/4 of a year in track days so it's a necessary cost for me to have fun.

Not keen to try the Federal slicks from tire rack? They're almost half the price but Lukey luke was telling me the life is nowhere near as good...

My AD08's have done 13 track days now, granted two have been interrupted by rain though. Still, impressed. The times don't seem

to be dropping off yet either. I'm just waiting for them to die!

Briz, the AO50's are such a low volume tyre here in Aus. So I can fully understand the price. You have seen it over in Europe, the shear number of cars that turn up to track days and number of events outweighs many times over what we have here. Sames goes for the states.

The more demand there is, the more supply and competition on price.

I have a fresh set of 265/35/18 AD08's sitting at home... next to a set of black lmgt4's 18x9.5 +12. Maybe I'll just rock out with those for now while I ease back into track work.... but then I tell myself, once you go semi's you don't go back!

hey maybe we should do a group buy on a 20' box of AO50's!

should get approx 50 - 60 sets in a 20' box. do you reakon we could get that many takers?

do you need some kind of licence to import tyres? i dont know.

Are there any plans with SAU running 2013 championship with some other club........more professional club than WRX.

Last year I experienced cancellation of an entire session because some muppet ignored the flag, cancellation of an entire passenger session because some other moron spun around - and they send EVERYONE home - BS. Punish the individual I say - black flag is there for a reason.

Now this time i'm hearing of all the issue with noise and oil on the track.

My expereince with AROCA - longer sessions, slicker change-over between the groups, and a definitely more friendly atmosphere - can't SAU Vic tie up with some club like that instead with WRX guys that sometimes just come up as spoilt brats doing us all a favour for holding a day.

Just a thought, for commitee to consider.

If its more professional we'll end up with more SAU guys on board.
