Disappointed that I missed out on the group buy. Does anyone have any idea where I can still get them or anybody else interested in another group buy?

Just sent Jesse an email as I also cleverly missed this buy.

I have these lights already..

They come wired so it's a direct plug and play exercise.. The Halos and LEDs come on if you move the stalk to parkers.. They also come on if the lights are set to auto and the headlights come on.. If you want to have the halos/leds always on you will need to cut and connect to something like accessories (so they are always on when the car is on) They DO NOT come with any bare wires.. It is all plug and play if you have the stock HID ballasts/globes and igniters.

The current harness on your factory lights are not used at all.. as long as you have the original unhacked car headlight wiring harness (there is no need for this to be modified by compliancing etc so it should be intact and untouched)

The indicator bulb that comes with the lights is a dual filament bulb.. so its always on (USA style) You can buy a new bulb or just remove the connectors to the extra filament (takes 10 seconds to remove)

Lastly $140 to install these lights is a joke.. it took me maybe just over an hour to do both lights.. I am not a mechanic with access to a hoist.. I did it on my garage floor laying on cardboard with no jacking up involved

I'm very happy with them.. Don't go above 6000k though

Just contacted Jesse about these for myself.

Anyone else keen on them? I'd like to save a few buck if I can if you're interested as well.

Cheers

OK, scratch that.

No new group buy is going to organised.

How blue are the 6,000k globes? I don't want any police attention, and my old HIDs @ 6,000k got me more than enough.

You are talking about the coupe' headlights where I was not, I was talking and displayed a picture for the sedan lights.

The coupe lights should be a straight drop in affair as the coupe' was released with projectors, the sedan however was never released with projectors so they are complete aftermarket hence the difference.

I doubt very much those are "real Philips" esp since thats in AUD... They will colour fade fast. Even from america from a guy that just sells them and gets good rates is $90... bulk buy 10+ for $70each shipped

if you want 6000K then the best are Philips D2S 6000k 85122WX Ultinon @$90 if you want the most output of light then Osram's D2S CBI 66240. Also sold as Sylvania but $160

$140 is to make a business run, if you are confident you can do it yourself

you do have to know "how" to do it. If you know then it will take an 45mins max.. more if you taking your time.

Doesn't get any easier than this guys: http://g35driver.com...mple-steps.html

Edit: Comparison between 4300K and 6000K globes on the g35. I will personally be getting the D2S 6000k (preferably Phillips).

Yep it really is that simple - except you don't even have to undo the 10 bottom 10mm bolts - you can undo all the top ones and just lean the bumperbar forward/down and there is plenty of from from memory.

But to make it more fun, the 4 Adelaide guys are going to get together at my place, sink piss and do all the cars in one hit!

So what globes are people putting in them? High beam & low beam options?

High Beam

Philips X-treme Vision H1 +100%

Low Beam

Philips 5000k D2S 85122CX

Can anyone with the lights installed please park the correct distance away from a wall and take a pic of the low beam and high beam, and if possible standing infront of the passenger side light, i want to see what how the drivers side cutoff is. Thanks alot!!

^^^ Nate, what makes you think the high beam is H1? All references I can find say they are 9003/H4

    • Hi all. I am aware there is lots of discussions about jacking points, where to lift the car and what not. But as usual just a lot of "in my opinion" and nothing definitive, and everyone does it in a different way. I want to hear from some experienced people on which points on the car it's okay/safe/recommended to lift the car using a four point hoist/lift. I will attach some images of my underbody. Sills are largely okayish, the driver side jacking point is pretty mangled though and it looks like the underfloor is slightly pushed in too, but I might be wrong. In the German Skyline forum, the consensus is to use the sidemember chassis rails in the front and the rear subframe? bushing in the rear. I know the manual says to never use the sidemember for loading but lots of folk do it and it was definitely done on my car too as they are slightly bent too. Based on the images, what points do I use to not make the already present damage worse? I'd use wood or rubber blocks to spread the load across a bigger area of course. Driver side sidemember and jacking point mangled one) https://imgur.com/a/eKjzrJX Driver side rear jacking point https://imgur.com/a/W3DWF1P Passenger side sidemember and jacking point https://imgur.com/a/65UvIJe Passenger side rear jacking point https://imgur.com/a/h3k7j53 We can also see some underbody rust but so far it all looks somewhat treatable and nothing that requires a Yoshida style restoration.
    • Have you put an aftermarket oil pressure gauge on and verified your oil pressure?   Noise being on the block, on exhaust side, how high up the block does it seem to be? It could be the VCT system getting cranky, especially if it's mainly at idle, and when warm, as that'll be your lowest point for oil pressure. Could be showing that oil passages / VCT solenoid are blocking.
    • Well, hydraulic lifters will get noisy if they are dirty/fouled in some way, and exactly how that manifests will depend on exactly what schmutz is where. There is a procedure on here somewhere for dismantling and soaking/cleaning them. Replacing them with new is about 50% of the work and about 5% of the money!
    • Thanks for the reply @GTSBoy this is is a hydraulic lifter engine. Yea right i did not realise the lifters were supposed to be compressible while installed. I could push them down but i had to lean almost my while body weight on them.  I have never heard of a lifter/ lifters ticking only at hot idle and getting worse the hotter it gets. I have owned a few jdm cars with noisy lifters. This noise is slightly more subtle, it is more of a sharp gentle metalic tic than the solid and more loud tapping I've heard on lifters. I have used a metal rod, alloy tube, hose and stethoscope and could not find the source of the tick. But it appears to be loudest on the actual engine block behind the exhaust cam gear and next to the oil filter. I had mate (40 year old mechanic) go over it with me and he couldn't find it either..  Could it be a cam seal issue of some sort?  Cheers
