Hey guys, just looking for some advice and recommendations on what we should be looking at next in terms of parts to keep the car on the road and in one piece. Just for a bit of background I have a fairly current build thread going in the projects, build ups section Boxheads R32 GT-R Anyways onto what i'm here for, the car is almost ready to be sent for tuning to DVS JEZ but the turbos are capable of producing more power than is a good idea for stock internals supposedly.

The Tomei M8260 kit is said to be 650ps rated and as far as we know, the internals are stock 115k items. Are there ways to identify internally modified car parts through testing? As far as it states in the turbo booklet and from various other sources certain internals will only take around 500ps so it's not the best situation as you might see. We know what the basic idea of parts needed for top but is there any particular setups that will help benefit the car now and in the future? A Link ECU is on order for the thinking side, a few other goodies such as a v-cam setup, forged pistons and rods, camshafts and gears, fuel pump and mostly other parts around the motor in preparation for the engine being opened up. The car is staying on the street but will be a track bias setup hopefully. Cheers for any advice guys n gals.:action-smiley-069:

You could simply look @ the rods/pistons and work it out. You'll soon see comparing to stock ones - if they are or not.

Are you really going to persist with those turbo's though? You know the info on them, and you know they are unfortunately... very average.

Also do you realise the cost that v-cam is?

If you did, you'd soon sell the turbos and just buy decent ones. Be better gains for dollar than v-cam will get you. Not saying v-cam is bad, but there is $10,000 more to spend before going that route in all honesty and turbo selection is the single most important thing to spend the money on in the first place. You can have 11ty supporting mods, but if the turbos are rubbish it'll always be an 'average' setup.

Other wise, simply set a power goal and plug into the search essentially (300rwkw, 330rwkw, 400rwkw etc). Info/parts are all covered in more detail than you'll get on one thread.

Yeah, they aren't awe inspiring but they are something different, which i'm interested to see. For now we're using them, but likely they will get replaced when we look for more than 650ps, I'm just trying to get an idea of what would be some thoughtful mods for the limits we have now and for if/when turbos are replaced with higher output items. VCam is expensive and unnecessary currently and these turbos aren't the greatest but I still think a very decent setup could be had from them. It's just going to be something new that hopefully DVS JEZ can work with well. Cheers.

This link has pretty much the same info we got in the booklets.
