+1.

I think cutting is the go and there is a thread where it's mentioned but no directions on how it's done.

I'll be watching for info from anyone that's cut into one too.

I need to do it too and have removed the piece like you but haven't had the guts to attack it with a Dremel in case i cut through a circuit board or something.

Love to hear what others have done.

I read about it on here somewhere but can't find the thread, from memory the whole unit was taken to an auto electrician who sorted it out but it was certainly cut open somehow.

Found it page 15 in the m35 info thread

Fair call, I am going to buy a Dremel (Perfect tool for the job I had thought) this week and attack it this weekend. I really wish I knew what it looked like inside as to cut away the most efficient sized hole...

I've attached an image showing the 2 options I can see for cutting away at it. I'm inclined to go for the yellow line... but you can see that with the orange line you would get it all including the wires which would be good too. Anyone have any thoughts?

you in sydney?

i have 2 spares that were fully working when removed

I'm in NZ, thanks anyway.

Pretty much the same as i had concluded, however, the issue i see is sealing it up again. Any water inside and it might be stuffed anyway.

You should be able to find quite a few on trademe.co.nz there's always a few M35's being parted out on there;

Although this is potentially a quick fix, it isn't as satisfying as repairing the original in my view. thumbsup.gif
