Hi all. Bit of a newbie here. Been signed up for a while but only now joining the skyline clan.

I have my dream r33 gts-t patiently waiting on the docks in japan at the moment and can't wait to tackle compliance and rego once it lands here.

One small thing that it is missing though is a set of the geniune nissan floor mats. I have posted in the wanted section and searched in the for sale thread but can't seem to find any. Does anyone have any that they want to sell or know where i can get a set for a respectable price (ie. less than $200 that Just Jap quoted me).

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hey strydes and WELCOME 2 the Skyline FAMILY

i also try to get some floor mats when i 1st got my skyline, i was quote $400 for Real NISMO Mats (may have been less cant remember now) but $200 was the cheapest i also got for just nissan mats, hope u find a better price as $200 is abit of a rip off

mike

ive got two sets of floor mats with my car

One dark grey ...... light grey edging .... red skyline badge ... orignally came out of my R33 i think ive seen them in R32's. Currently under my bed - my cat likes sleeping on them :)

Other set came out of car yard Skyline which i have in my car now cos they look tidier than my other pair ...... the white mottled puke look you guys are talking about ..... although i think that will go nicer if i ever decide to go chequer plate.

The woven checkerboard is the pick of the bunch in my view, these are the ones with the metal plate on the two front ones and the centre back which says 'GENUINE SKYLINE'

mmmmm. very nice.

These, therefore, are the ones i am looking for. However, if anyone has the other ones that they would like to get rid of i would certainly be interested. Nizmo maybe??

dan_the_man, do you want to sell or are you just teasing me??? PM if you do want to sell.

the series two are mine! *thinks they look nice wit ricey chequer plate*

but if you really want the series ones i have i may be tempted to give them up...... but also i'll be giving away a part of my cars history as they came with my car :) *why i havent sold them before*

Thanks all for your responses, however, I have managed to pick up a set from a fella in brisbane. Ended up paying $75 for future reference if anyone is interested in the going rate.

Now all i need is a car to put em in... :boinkcar:

Once i do, i look forward to seeing you all on one of the cruises.

    • Thanks for the reply @GTSBoy this is is a hydraulic lifter engine. Yea right i did not realise the lifters were supposed to be compressible while installed. I could push them down but i had to lean almost my while body weight on them.  I have never heard of a lifter/ lifters ticking only at hot idle and getting worse the hotter it gets. I have owned a few jdm cars with noisy lifters. This noise is slightly more subtle, it is more of a sharp gentle metalic tic than the solid and more loud tapping I've heard on lifters. I have used a metal rod, alloy tube, hose and stethoscope and could not find the source of the tick. But it appears to be loudest on the actual engine block behind the exhaust cam gear and next to the oil filter. I had mate (40 year old mechanic) go over it with me and he couldn't find it either..  Could it be a cam seal issue of some sort?  Cheers
    • This seems problematic and unlikely at the same time. Vanilla RB2Xs have hydraulic lifters. They do have "zero" clearance, but only when running with oil pressure inside them. When not running, you should be able to compress them and obtain heaps of clearance. RB26s and Neos have solid lifters. They should have ~0.3mm and ~0.5mm on the inlet and exhaust respectively. If they have zero clearance then bad things are happening. With nothing else being wrong, it would mean that the valves would be held slightly (ever so slightly) open when they are supposed to be closed and it should have all sorts of problems when running, caused by leakage in/out through the valves. Or, zero clearance can indicate severe valve seat recession. None of it is good. Have you used a piece of hose as a stethoscope to try to localise the noise?
    • Sorry for reviving an old post, but I'm having the same hot idle tick issue. Did anyone ever find out what it was?  I have checked/ replaced Injectors Coils checked Lifter clerance (is at zero) Checked Cam lobes Replaced exhaust gasket and studs Would appreciate any advice this is driving me nuts
    • There's a huge reason manufacturers are tuning in dead flat torque curves... Make them reliable (and more drive able)
    • What HVAC actuator is under the steering wheel? Do you mean on the RHS of the centre console, immediately to the left of your shin? If so, then yes, it is probably that one, because that is the mode door actuator, and from what I know, it's still a pain in the arse to replace. I don't know about whole dash out, but you certainly have to rip into the centre console section. I don't know if it's covered in the workshop manual, as I haven't spent much time looking at those parts of it. (and by "the workshop manual, I mean the R32 GTR one, which is the most comprehensive one we have, and it should be similar enough between that and later cars to serve as a guide).
