U-neek bending in Dandenong south have done seamless chromoly for me before, not cheap though for small quantities. They use hydraulic pressure in their mandrel process from what I understand. Worth a call anyway. How thin is the wall?

38x6mm tube for a rollcage!!!

Obviously it's not a regular automotive cage??

CDS 38x2.6 350mpa is a minimum requirement for everything other than hoops.

CAMS are about to release a minimum requirement for 4130 and T6 materials for certified cage manufacturers (CDS / CDW anyone can fabricate rules will remain apparently)

I can tell you it's not 38x6mm as a min requirement though.

Sure it's not 38x3mm?? (6mm total wall)??

I know alot of suppliers, performance metals, race tech and myself were nil stock of anything under 3mm wall 4130 late last year. The only available sensible size was 44 & 38x3mm.

It was just a guess guys the pipe is at a workshop so I couldn't measure the wall, 6mm was stuck in my head but I think thats the thickness of the plates I'm using.

My father in law organized the pipe and as far as I'm aware it is to cams spec.

Anyways we ended up making one out of old tube we had laying around (vic drift is not cams monitored i just wanted to make it to spec just incase that ever changes) and I will tackle the chromoly at a later date,

Cheers - trent

For the application I need it for my slap together cage will do. When It comes to building a cams one it won't be "slapped together"

Im not having a crack. the person building my next cage has built cams cages before at previous jobs I was just trying to find somewhere to get the pipe bent :)
