Who else out there is pumped for mass effect 3? I've continued my shephard since the first game & uber excited,

which is awesome because I rarely get excited about anything anymore

It's been so long since I played through I can barely remember the details but from ME2 I did 2 playthroughs; one where I destroyed the enemy base & one where I kept it for the illusive man

other than that my whole team survived & all the crew was back safely afterwards, dunno how that will play out in the next game but will be fun to see.

I had a squizz on the bioware forums to see some pre-release updates, but man those guys are more trekkie then trekkies  I'm gonna steer clear of those types of sites, I hate spoilers, like being told the ending of a movie before you go to watch it

nah didn't buy bf3, those warshooters aren't my thing anyway & kind of all feel the same, I just buy them when they're in the $20 bargain bin as I don't really have the spare time to play video games anymore, as much I wish I did so I'm a bit choosy on what I buy nowadays

agree with the whole monetizing thing. Honestly though, i'll probably still end up buying the DLC eventually in my numerous play-throughs. not sure if the N7 edition is worth it though, as far as i can see, i'd maybe only want the weapons (unless they're no better than in game weapons) and the extra character (anyone know who it is?)

EDIT: i laughed/cringed when he was all outraged at the N7 edition costing $80USD and £55. I wish it cost 80 bucks here in australia

EDIT numero deux: just looked into the N7 pack, apparently you can get one of those mech dog things to follow you around as a pet, on the normandy. i'm sold.

i wanted real stuff for the N7. like a die-cast normandy sr-2.

there's no spoiler tags so if you don't want stuff spoiled don't scroll.

still here?

I'll make you keep scrolling to hide it from people who don't wanna see

srsly

it's a fkn prothean!!!!!!!!

I've pre ordered the N7 edition. Only reason being its only $10 more than the normal one and comes with more include DLC that I Would have ended up shelling out for in the future anyway.

On another note has everyone played The Arrival DLC mission for ME2? I have and I'd say it plays a part in ME3. I'm keen to see what they do with the human reaper decision, whether you kept it or destroyed it.

Haven't played much of the DLC for ME2; I heard that the Shadow Broker was the only one really worth getting. The Arrival any good?

Still annoyed about it though; because it'll be on Origin I don't think I can get mates in the US to gift it to me and pay them the US prices...

yeah the Shadow Broker one was ok, the mission was shorter than The Arrival but it unlocked the lair, where you could earn some credits, upgrades and get tips on mineral rich planets. Also sets up a bit of the story for ME3 where Liara becomes the shadow broker.

The Arrival is one big mission where you play as just Shepard (no teammates) there are a couple of different settings and play styles, one you need to sneak around and others its all guns blazing. I liked it and reckon it was worth it. The basic gist of the story is someone has found the Alpha Relay which the reapers can use to get anywhere in the galaxy fast. A plan is made to push a big asteroid at the relay to destroy it, only catch is the explosion will destroy the entire system which has a couple of Batatarian colonies. Something goes wrong and you don't have enough time to evacuate the colonies before destroying the relay.

Where did you preorder it from? Every where I've looked its at least $127.

ebgames, sorry just checked and its $20 more, not $10. should also state i'm getting it for the PS3. still, once you add up a DLC weapons pack and an extra mission/character it would be close to an extra $20. when i go game shopping i'm all about extra's lol, if i can pre-order or get a special edition with extra DLC i'll go for that. 9 times out of 10 i'll end up paying for a bit of DLC anyway so if i can get it with the game i'm all good.

Was just looking and the normal version is $108 on PS3 and $88 on PC (eb prices). consoles get screwed when it comes to game prices lol.

I'm on my 2nd playthrough of the Shep I'll be using for ME3. Jack died in my first one, even though I hated her, I couldn't let it slide lol. I've got one week to finish this playthrough and play the demo. BUT, I cannot find the demo anywhere! I can find links and advertising for it all over the internets, but I cannot find a single place to download it from.

On the Cynical Brit's rant. I agree 100%. EA has been a gluttonous company since ever. I hate what they've done to games and I super hate what they did to BF3. I hate Origin. I hate EA. But it's kinda like that ONLY seat on the bus is next to some smelly fat man, if you wanna get to where you wanna go. You've got to sit down. [i suppose you could also stand, but that's beside the point I'm trying to make.]

I don't know if I'll go so far as boycotting the game. But I damned well feel like it. After the amout Aussies pay for games already, it kinda makes my blood boil. I haven't preordered anything yet, and don't think I will. I don't know what I'm going to do. Digital Preorders are just stupid. They try to coax you into it by giving you more digital stuff. Stuff that's infinte, and it's not like you need to secure your copy of zeroes and ones. I want material things that you can hold in your hand or put on your geek-shelf. That has nothing. Things that give me an edge in a single player campaign seem moot to me. But story I'm a sucker for. And to

exclude a character and the story that surrounds him - a FKN PROTHEAN - from the completed game, whereby the only way to attain him is to pay more money. Srsly. WTF.

I realise I kinda just repeated stuff the Cynical Brit said, while it was fresh in my mind. But I guess that's exactly how I feel.

I love to whinge about games lol.

it plays a direct part in ME3. at the start of ME3 (spoiler onwards) you are on trial for your actions at arrival (ie. blowing up a mass relay and killing zillions of peopl) at the time of the reapers attack) (thats from the demo, the first mission)

dont think ill be getting the N7 pack. From what i've heard the (spoiler) prothean (spoiler) is still in the game and part of the story, but will not join the squad. This may or may not be true, just something someone said

    • It's unfortunate what Tomei USA has done to Tomei's name in general. I'm very weary of ordering parts from them now. I only order direct from a Japanse source (e.g Nengun). At least their logos are different, so you end up knowing what you have.
    • Update Issues 5 (plus #4) - 10 After making a claim about issue #4's missing part, DeAgostini Japan sent a whole new issue #4 and it arrived about 2 weeks after that. That was back in early March. It took another 4 weeks to receive issues 5 - 13 though. This update is for issues 5 - 10. Ove the 5 issues the front left suspension and most of the engine have been completed. The quality of the castings and fit of the parts is quite good, it seems better than DeAgostini's BNR34 Skyline GT-R from the Fast & Furious 2 movie, which (to me anyway) doesn't seem to have as tight tolerances or quite as accurate castings.  Each issue has a lot of info about the 1989 - 1993 Skyline range and other Nissan models from that era, but the focus is on the BNR32 Skyline GT-R Nismo and the various racing it did in Japan, Europe (Spa 24hrs) and of course Australia. I've included some text translated with Google Lens in some photos and will add to them if there's anything worth including.
    • If it's for a SR20, make sure it's not the American Poncams, might as well call them Poocams. Had a set in a friend's car, all scuffed up after a few track days. Like the metallurgy Tomei USA used is junk. Went back to JDM OG Tomei Poncams, no issues till now.   Tomei USA is not the real OG Tomei.   Random rant over, fk the US of A, bunch of c u n t s.
    • Most of the industry in North America either runs on Siemens or Allen Bradley. I have two redundant S7-1500's on my desk right next to me for simulation. Siemens has been losing ground though since Stuxnet, as cybersecurity is a big thing. In my line of work that is federally regulated, you must by law have a cybersecurity management program in place and its audited and inspected every so often.  I work with Emerson PLC's daily (RX3i's) and have done large biogas/refinery projects with their DCS's. Their PLC's are somewhat OK minus the way they do PLC redundancy (You have to download on both PLC's separately every time you make a change )  As for their DCS's... you'll be limited financially first before anything else stops you. Costs are exorbiant at roughly 10x what it would cost you to do with any other system (e.g AB PAC).  1990's, those suckers are brand new haha! Kraft-Heinz (An old client when I use to work for an ESP) still runs Siemens TI505 PLC's from the mid 80's. Ohh how I don't miss working with those... you could only do a certain number of online downloads until it's "Change" buffer would be full and you would then need to go offline to do a full download. There was no warning of when this was coming up and it generally would happen when you would go in at 2am to make changes before production -_-.
