Man just go to a exhaust shop get the proper stuff not some cheap nasty things. Most studs are high tensile steel so they won't stretch from the heat and the nut pressure.

Yeh just be careful with that though, high tensile doesn't mean high heat resistance. Tensile only refers to how much stress something can take when being pulled on. Heat changes the tensile properties of the stud unless it is highly heat resistant as well.

That said, I'd say most high tensile studs intended for manifold use will cope with what you can throw at it with one of these turbos. Perhaps if you were making 700hp and really pushing a lot of heat while out on the track in stressful conditions then you might run into some issues.

I understand that but majority of good quality exhaust studs are made from a higher grade of steel

Yes, my first comment was just a warning to anyone reading who may have interpreted that as high tensile = high heat resistance thumbsup.gif

For example those Supercheap bolts. What is their intended purpose, what grade steel are they, does anyone know? I'd be wary of putting anything like that in, just because they fit doesn't mean they are right for the job. Although they appear to be doing the job for Stao and others, I just wonder how they would deal with a beating out on the track.
