Hi kinda new here but not new when it comes to skylines or nissan's

I though I share some info on above issue and contribute positively to the site.

Came across few R34 with above issue. Factory boost gauge droping out and not reading. sometimes come to life but only to die again.

I have pinpointed it to the Boost Sensor. The one bolted to strut tower in front of the brake booster.

Chased few days for replacement. Brand new cost u don't want to know. Wreck yards / Importers I contacted and had these items wanted $150 for it. bit expensive.

So decided to see what make it tick (kinda typical of me as i'm electronics design technician) as I suspected a intermittent problem with the sensor.

Luckily the R34 boost sensor can be dismantled revealing some what very shonky soldering job.

Had quite a few dry joints. Once reworked I've tested the sensor and no surprise to me it worked fine. 1 week and still not a glitch.

It is fine electronics so care needs to be taken and decent tools to be used if attempting to DIY..

So if anyone has an issue with these PM me ill help out. don't be silly paying $150 for second hand unit that will most probably crap itself.

if someone has a faulty one send it to me and I write up DIY repair and post it here with pics and u get one free repair.
