Windscreen Wiper Problem

I have an issue with the windscreen wipers.

All speeds work fine, EXCEPT the intermittent setting. the wipers stop in the middle of the screen, then go again when they feel like it. there is power getting to the wipers, that not a problem, like i said its only the intermittent setting that plays up and freezes all the time.

any ideas?

Its the wiper amplifier by the sound of it. Its a little black or brown box near the abs module. It tells them when to stop and start. I have 1 that will fix that.
