Guys,

Here is an opportunity for some of you who can't make the SAU Driver Training Day on the 24th March or who are 'track junkies' and just want to come along and have some more fun.

I have recently registered on the SAU Forums as I own an HR31 and am a Skyline fanatic (next car is an R34 GTR). I belong to and organise "No Speed Limits" Drive Days for the HSV Owners Club in conjunction with the Southern Sporting CC. Our first day is at Wakie on Friday, 30 March. This day is unlike your SAU DT days where you have a lower max number so everyone gets plenty of tuition and therefore the entry fee is different as we have a higher max number of 60 (5 groups of 12) and being a weekday the track hire is 40% less. Entry fee, including timer, is $145 for SAU members and you can invite a friend if you want to and they do not need to belong to any club.

We make up the groups according to experience and each group goes out for a 10 min session. At our last day everyone who wanted them got 8 x 10 min sessions, of which 3 were passenger, for a total of around 48 - 64 laps (depending on lap time).

Check out the attached entry forms (hard and soft), Format doc and Regulations for full details and how to enter. The hard copy is for those who want to fill it in, scan and email it; the soft copy is the same form with the lines removed that you can type in and attach to your email to me.

Let me know in this thread or email me if you want to enter or have any queries and please email me your entry form preferably using the 'on-line payment system' or by DC or CC details (you now need to also add in the 3 digit validation code) however, I would recommend you use the on-line system which is easy for both of us and totally secure.

We have plenty of spots now but with 185 on the drive day database it will fill fast from now on. I hope to see a few of you on the day.

Brett

Well sign up and make it a three peat?

Been to a few of these HSV drive days and they are always very well organised and run smoothly, price is right and the people are friendly. I hope i can hit this one up too but could be blowing my whole wad on the wknd before SAU day is 24th and NSCC day is 25th, convincing the gf to allow me to disappear for another wknd could be a push :P

Anyone without these issues should seriously consider it though!

  • 3 weeks later...

Guys, this is another day run identically to the NSCC day next Sun and ideal for those of you who can't make next Sat or Sun or just want more track time.

Being a weekday - good price too! We only have 12 spots left so let me know if you are a starter, I'll keep a spot for you and send in your entry. Be good to see some of you there with some of the NSCC guys already entered plus a whole heap of HSV's, EVO's, WRX's etc.

I'll be there this Sat with Hamiltonau so look forward to meeting some of you.

    • Its hard to tell really. The Q50 owner's forum talks about it a lot and has quite a few people directly affected, but no idea what % of cars sold actually had the block replaced. Also, there seem to be 2 distinct issues which both get diagnosed by Infiniti as requiring a block replacement (no wonder they are going broke) 1. "Porous block" where coolant mixes with oil through thin or poorly cast parts of the block 2. Head coolant gallery plugs not sealing. If I was noticing engine coolant loss I'd start with cooling system pressure test (as always) and then I'd pull the cam covers and reseal the coolant gallery plugs on both side before worrying about a potentially porous block.  If neither of those did the trick it would be put in a second hand engine out of japan; I haven't checked pricing but I'm sure there are plenty around by now as they've been in production 10+ years
    • To clarify what I posted above, I thought you both had a situation where it cancelled sooner one way than the other.....if it is reasonably even where it cancels in either direction that is probably normal (consider gentle movements like lane changes, you don't want it to need half a turn of lock to turn the indicators off)
    • Son, in this country, that is a piece of Gyprock. f**king drywall. FFS! I also like the autocorrect of trailer to tablet. I was reading it and thing, "what the hell drugs is he on?" Then the photo made it clear enough.
    • SO whats the deal with this issue? I've read a heap of posts from the infinity owners in the US having full engine swaps done under warranty. Most claims are done on earlier cars than 2019 but I'm sure I've come across claims of 2020 models also having this issue. I like the 400r and Q50Red/S but can't fathom dumping close to 50k on a car with terminal issues!!!
    • The above video is working normally. That is, that's how the right hand indicator should cancel when rotating the wheel left.
