Hi guys,

This is my first post as I have just purchased a 94' series 1 GTsT, it currently has 400rwhp and is good for more (daily driver..).

There is a swirl tank in the boot (have dealt with fuel fumes), however the car is sucking exhaust fumes into the cabin from somewhere. I have pulled all the lining out of the boot to track down holes etc.. to plug up. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and could guide me to any known problem areas that let exhaust fumes into the boot?

Thanks.

I do have a oil catch can up behind the passanger side head light, I had a good look at the fire wall last night, but will check again. Thanks for the info.

I no with mine I have a catch can venting to the atmosphere an the fumes come through the firewall into the cabin.. Have you got a catch can?

My catch can is vented to atmo too up by the drivers headlight. I occasionally get oily smells in the cabin too.

You could possibly have an exhaust leak at the turbo/manifold.

I would assume with 400whp you have some sort of aftermarket tubro, or turbo/manifold setup. And as many people know the turbo bolts dont stay that tight for that long :P Unless of course you use those oval shaped lock bolt things.

Check that first. Make sure they are all nipped up tight. Try find a stock bolt locking thingy to throw on if you can too. It helped with mine, but after about 5 months the nuts managed to push past them too closedeyes.gif

I have a GT3582 R on a high high mount manifold, full custom exhaust etc... I will check over bolts tonight after work. Regarding the filter on the catch can, do you know if you can clean them by just using soapy water? I dont really want to spend $50 to get the K&N cleaner for such a small filter, better off just buying a new one...

Regards.
