Pioneer DEX-P99RS which gives me ipod/iphone connectivity + I have a 160gig hard drive connected to it for my music library. Very rarely use the CD :) but there are plenty of ipod control head units on the market, just depends on your budget.

The factory Radio & AC controls are integrated on the one PCB so to go aftermarket you will need to mod the fascia and find a separate A/C control module like the one below:

Or buy the double din unit with controls like Howa mentioned:

I'm looking to install JDM dashkit in mine right now. Any one know if the premium Bose came with an amp? I hear the USDM's have the amp located in the trunk next to the spare tire.

Also what type of wire harness do i need?

I'm doing the exact thing right now.

Ordered the JDM dash kit from japanparts. Metra buttons do look a bit tacky in real life so stick with JDM.

But basically you would need to also replace the AC controls. You can find them together with the facia, AC controls, single/double DIN brackets and tray.

Also get a harness for the wiring to save some headache, hope that helps

Hi everyone,

Wanting to know what I should replace the current 'face' for the stereo. I miss having the ability to play my iPod and listen to the radio. What does everyone else have?

Bose systems have an Amp in the boot, non-Bose do not, this applies to the G35 (US) and the V35.

You will need an adaptor to connect your aftermarket head unit to the Bose system.. Chris Rogers should be able to help you out with that.

If you just want radio and iPod, you can get the band expander to make the radio work here, and an iPod I/F for the factory unit. Would be cheaper than the double din facia, harness adaptor and aftermarket head unit.

Alternativly you could get a head unit from a G35, radio will work here and it gives you MP3/WMA CD playback ability. Doesn't help with your iPod though..

Oh sweet i think i need something like this:

To retain the use of the amp. Also any recommendations for the HU (not sure what power output i need).

Ok guys so i did a little research to save yourself headache with wiring (plug and play attempt).

With the Bose sound system in order to retain the amp you have to use the NSA-04. If you have a factory navigation system and you wish to retain that then go for the NSA-05 interface.

For none Bose systems use the NSA-03.

NSA-04 link: http://www.beatsonic...iti/nsa-04.html

NSA-05 link: http://www.beatsonic...iti/nsa-05.html

Like Greg mentioned speak to Chris Rogers and he should be able to hook you up.

I got my headunit yesterday (Kenwood KDC-U549BT) and realized that without the interface i will lose the amp along with the 2 speaks in my back seat down.gif

So far this is the only solution i know on how to retain the factory amp and speakers.

Parts so far (don't know if i may need anything else or if i'm ready for the conversion):

JDM Dash kit and A/C controls with tray

Head unit (possibly harness if needed)

Beat Sonic NSA interface

Any suggestions are welcome.

Note* These only apply if you have an amp setup so it's not for everyone

Thanks for this info mate. Any chance these are still available? I'm only after the AC Control PCB like in the picture.

or Riverside Infinity. Also try the G35 Driver forums, you might get lucky.

I replaced my stock 2003 Bose stereo with a Pioneer double din screen. I didn't have any adapters and I retained the amp and both back speakers. I can honestly say after owning and doing up car stereos that my car sounds like it has a sub. It is insane! Don't know what i did to retain the amp.
