I was going ot get my turbo next week, but my diff is on the way out, so i guess ill be getting the diff first.

For an R32 GTS-T what is the best replacement diff. Rebuilding factory isnt too appealing.

Im thinking torsen style diff, cusco or similar, or maybe a torsen diff (?) out of an R32 GTR V-Spec.

Surely someone has blown a diff or replaced a diff with something better than the factory viscous LSD

I think the stock nissan diffs are not to bad providing you're sensible and don't do too many 5th gear burnouts:)

I'm running a small diff from an NA Zed in my Twin Turbo, I think it's the same as the skyline diff, I'm putting around 240rwk thru it and it's a heavy car, had over 50 1/4 mile passes so far with no probs(yet)

I think japanese motorsport have some Tomei, Cusco and Nismo mechanical diff centres in stock, should be around the $700 mark

I know they are strong, that isnt my concren. I dont do burnouts, rev/dumps, but i do have a savage clutch and do regular track work. My factory diff is just old and starting to knock and complain, still has LSD effect but cvs etc are just tired.

Even rebuilt i doubt they would give you the power done and control on tracks/strip that a torsen diff gives. As for the noise i suppose that all depends on the particular diff, thats why im hoping for some feedback.

Anyone out there got a Tomei / Cusco ???. I would like to believe a good diff gives 1-3 sec improvement on lap times at the track, with better power down.

I've got a mechanical in mine (R33 GTS-t), and they are a bit noisey on slow tight corners when you accelerate. But it's really not that bad.

One thing I found with it is that it's very very predictable, and when the back comes out it's slow and gradual (unless it's in the rain - then it just comes out and stays there :):D ), but even in the rain you know what it's going to do.

I can't comment about track work.... yet :D

It's hard for me to compare cause I got mine with the machanical, and I STILL haven't done any 1/4 times or 100km/h times.
