Dont know if anything has been posted yet re ARC as yet but ARC have been back in minor production since late last year and early this year but now pretty much fully operational with new name "ARC BRAZING" http://www.arc-brazing.co.jp/

Make sure you get correct pricing on their parts ! You can check rrp pricing here for those who cant read ping pong : http://translate.goo...ductionbox.html

You should keep in mind that the rrp price is max you should pay and decent import companies should be selling these cheaper than rrp.

Do yourself a big favour and shop carefully as there's a few traders around selling these over 15,000yen over the rrp before delivery price added.

And yes , they are readily available in Japan and elsewhere !

Yeah there's some stupid prices being going round.

Just make sure you don't pay anything over retail price excluding Japanese tax otherwise your getting ripped off !!

If buying through a decent importer you should be paying less than the rrp !

Freight should be around the 6-7,000yen max by EMS.

Have the assets of the company been sold on (i.e. the tooling etc) and therefore a new coy making the old stuff

or

Has someone injected cash into the old operations so it's still the old operators making them?

This is pretty important, as you'd want the original operators on the tools... one might have seen what the outcomes are when the tooling is sold and made by people who aren't quite up to the job - Proton with the old CE Lancers.

When a company usually goes bankrupt in Japan, the government usually gives the business money to see if they can get back on track, If they dont after a period of time there are no second chances (so iv'e heard).

When i was in Jp, i was told dealing with ARC direct was a pain in the ass and wouldnt deal direct with exporters.

In other news i can get cheaper then retail through a jp wholesaler if anyone is after anything.

Also got a BNR32 S/H ARC box for sale. $240 del :)
