Hi

I have for sale a car trailer I had made for my R33 drag car which is no longer in use and for the right money will sell it. It was used a handful of times and designed so the car could sit evenly and totally on the trailer with no overhang so it is very safe.

It is extremely well put together and craftsmanship regarding welds was performed by a very experienced welder of 40 years.

Dimensions: Trailer is not your basic 14' trailer but almost the same weight.

* Tow Hitch to End- 6.2m

* Tray Length- 5.3m

* Width of Tray- 1.8m + Guards

* Tow hitch is a 3500kg AL-KO

* Axles are the Galvanized AL-KO IRS Independent Rubber Suspension. Rides extremely smooth, hardly any sway, and excellent for loading low cars as the whole trailer tilts down. Front what i recall they are each rated to 1100kg ( 2200kg in total)

* No springs to replace, absorbs shock, tested for toe-in camber.

* Braking is made by 4 Electric Brakes and comes with an in car adjustable controller. They do a fantastic job of holding the trailer straight, balanced and with little effort for the towing car.

* All travelling lights, LED side lights, number plate light plus reflectors in correct locations are fitted, as well as 2 galvanized heavy duty chains.

* Has a 7 Pin rectangle plug.

* Had my R33 weighing 1600kg + ramps and was perfect, even did a 1000km drive from Syd to Gold Coast with not an issue

Structure of the trailer is as follows:

* Length Beams- 75mm x 50mm x 3mm tube

* Cross Beams- 50mm x 50mm x 3mm tube

* Steel mesh on wheel tracks of tray to reduce weight and also to allow of working under the car in the absence of a jack/ hoist etc. Also prevents any sliding/spinning when loading car.

* Ramps are currently incomplete ( usable). They consist of 4m lengths of 50mm x 50mm x 3mm of tube steel with adequate bracing between the lengths. Plans were to have the mesh on these but never had the time to complete. I do have some of the mesh available. Also being so long they also aid with loading of low cars.

* Ramps are also placed down the center of the trailer under the car and makes easy sliding and no back straining. Trailer beams are protected by heavy duty rubber carpet so ramps do not damage paint work.

* Wheels and hubs are 14" Ford stud pattern so finding replacements etc are of no issues.

* Tyres are brand new 14" light truck tyres.

* Also comes with a 900kg electric winch with remote (not fitted)

Located Northern Gold Coast. Inspections are welcome.

Fantastic trailer for the motoring enthusiast which would save you at least 2/3rd's of a newly fabricated item. No rego with this trailer, and I do not have the plate for it. (could obtain in through the trailer company I dare say)

Item is listed on ebay as well. Can either email at [email protected] or message on ebay. You could send pm here but im barely on and forget lol.

$2499 which would include finished ramps, can negotiate with ramps unfinished.

Regards

Ben.

    • Here's one I help build and tuned a decade ago, Garrett  GTX3071R Gen 1, T3 twin scroll 0.83 rear housing. Went from larger 272 cams down to smaller Tomei Poncams to help with the low end. S13 non VCT motor. Car was purpose built for the track, hence low down was the focus. Note the actual dyno chart shows lower boost, however the EBC and boost gauge showed 1.9Bar (Ignore the torque, I was young and didn't know how to set derived torque)
    • I’m doing some side developments on SR20det S13 engines, its one my hobby cars used it to compare flow capacity of some smaller size wheels. SR20det is one of another JDM legendary engines I'm sure there are plenty of SR enthusiasts on this forum, I will share results some common turbo configurations here. a quick run down of what the car is: Wide body 180sx Type X with black top engine (blue). It has: Stock bottom end Haltech 1500 ECU 5-0 motorsports trigger kit Kelford SR20DET Beehive Spring with Titanium Retainers Kelford Cams SR20DET S13 188-B 268/272 Cams G25-660 Turbocharger in T2 .64 rear housing internally gated ARP Head studs MLS head gasket 1000CC ID injectors Walbro 450L Fuel pump Front mount cooler kit JJR’s 3 inches turbo back exhaust (its too short for the 180sx it had to be extended) Pump 98 fuel Hub Dyno tune So far made 270rwkws at 22psi full boost by 4500RPM. Engine is very knock limited hence a pretty bad looking top end. From previous experiences it seems like SR20dets are happier with bigger size turbine, some thing like a GT30 would make way better top end, but on same time response is lost. It won't be a problem with S15 VCT engines. I'll be testing alternative turbine housing, turbine wheel and possibly dump pipe options for extra flow to resolve the problem and of course E85 would resolve all the issues.
    • Awesome writeup and details. Thanks for sharing the story so far. I can relate to parts of it with my previous car and some of the issues I had to deal with.
    • Wow the colour matched hard top completely transforms the car. Are there any nice front lip options for the car or is that off the table?
    • Generally yes but for some reason I've been ruthless this time around!  I might even need to do another tip run after the way I've finally been able to hit the delete button on shit I've stepped over, stepped around and tripped over for the past 10 years!
