Exhaust Idea

Hi Fellas,

The time has come to put on an after-market exhaust onto my R33 GTS-T. Im thinking of going for:

3 inch dump pipe into a 3inch high flow CAT and then getting a custom stainless pipe made up to go from the cat into a Magnaflow muffler.

Is this a stupid idea? I'm not really a fan of cannon mufflers... so im after an alternative, are there any other alternatives which wont restrict power? Would I lose power or anything if I went for the above setup ?

Any ideas would be appreciated

There are a few off the shelf systems that have mufflers at the rear instead of a cannon

no it isn't a stupid idea. an oval muffler that has a 3" straight through pipe will flow just as much air as a cannon with the same 3" pipe through the centre. only difference will be that it will be more quiet.

There is no point getting a custom exhaust made up for a 33 gtst. there are millions of bolt-on one ready to go off the shelf, and also plenty of awesome second hand ones to choose from.

yeah, and if you don't like the cannon you can just get an oval muffler bolted on

good idea, ill probably buy a 2nd hand system and just take the cannon off and bolt on a different muffler.

Which dump pipes would you recommend ? Split pipes or just a normal 3 inch ?
