hey guys

ive searched the forum the last 2 days with not much help, so sorry if this has been covered

Car is 1993 R32 gtst

basically how it goes, drive car to work one morning, finshed like 9 hrs later car was dead no warning lights would come up on the dash, nothing. Except my alarm was making a very quite noise, so got a mate to jump start me. Started perfect, but when driving home like 45mins away, just as i got home used my highbeams and my Hicas light came on for a spilt second and my stero restart itself, and the car loses power when using those things now.

Now my alarm is going on being 6yrs old now and was thinking maybe it could be the backup battery gone dead. But other ppl are telling me straight up my alternator is going out.

i read on here that the Hicas light will flash if the battery is low hence why i think the alternator is not charging the battery

i dont have any test lights so what would u guys recomend/ see what i can do?

sounds like your alternator is on its way out, if car is running the alternator should power everything and charge the battery.

you will need a multimeter and check the voltage with car running
