^^^ That story sucks! Yes, generally speaking warranties aren't worth the paper they are written on.

But also, as I have stated in various other threads - I haven't seen a genuine V35 on the Jp auctions sites with under 50,000km on it in the past 5 or so years at least .... the engine you thought had 24,000km on it probably had 124,000km on it at least - hence the blowing smoke, using oil and associated problems .... but that said I have had my V35 for 67,000km now (had 48k on the odo when I got it and now has 115k), and I give mine a pretty hard time (including track days) and mine still blows little to no smoke, only uses a tiny bit of oil, and runs perfectly. God only knows how many actual km my car has on it (I suspect it had about 100k on it when I bought it - not 48k as per the odo). I have replaced the failed ball-joints, lower control arm bushes and all rotors, so I suspect well over 150k.
